  2. My vote for MAC Coach of the Year would have been for "Coach" JB Brookhart. If he won the MAC Coach of the Year last season after a spectacular 6-5 record in which the Zips didn't beat ONE team with a winning record, then certainly he should have won the award this season. Having the Zips REPRESENT the East in the MAC Championship game must not count for too much. Go Zippers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I thought I read MAC Champ is guaranteed a slot in Motor City Bowl. If Zips win, NIU would be screwed by Toledo... not right... not right at all.... Might as well have BG accept the MCB bid now too... then we can just cancel the MAC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME because it is MEANINGLESS!!! I agree with Zippy 989: The MAC Championship game IS meaningless. NIU wins a blowout that no one attends or watches on TV. Huskies by at least 24!!!!!!! Go Zips, enjoy your trip.
  4. If the game were played at Akron there would 25+ in attendance. I don't think you are giving the Zips' fans enough credit. They may well draw over 150 people. 25+ seems a little low to me. even for the Zippers
  5. The free ride and tickets for the students is a great thought by UAM. However, I think that this will really emphasize how bad the Zips' fans are in supporting their team. When the Akron crowd is sparse in Detroit it will certainly look bad for Akron. To compound that black eye will be the fact that the students were given a free ride and free ticket and still didn't want to go. The Zips representing the East is the MAC Office's worst nightmare. I'll bet Rick Chryst is mortified by the prospect of this match up to showcase the MAC. The ugly step sister has crashed the party.
  6. King Zip, The Zips won a tie breaker for the right to represent the MAC East. Miami 5-3 BG 5-3 Zips 5-3 All are Co-champions of the MAC East. Look, I'm not bashing the Zips. I've congratulated them on the right to represent the East. It will be a nice experience for the kids. It'll be the closest thing to being in a "bowl" game that they'll be able to experience. Ohio State 7-1 Penn State 7-1 Co-Champions of the Big 10
  7. I can say MAC East Co-Champions.
  8. Congratulations to the Zips for being the East Division REPRENTATIVE in the MAC Championship Game. Everything that needed to fall in place for Akron did. The stars have aligned for Zippy. Admittedly, I have to eat crow because I was sure that there was no possible way the Zips could make it to Detroit. However, by virtue of a bizarre three-way tie breaker the Zips are now packing their bags to take on the Huskies.
  9. a-zip WAKE UP That's already been stated above.
  10. Once again, Akron has only one chance to win the East as I stated above. If a three way tie exists at the conclusion of the season the tie would be broken by: 3. Comparison of conference winning percentage of cross-over opponents of the tied teams. a. Tie breaker awarded to team whose cross division opponents had the best cumulative winning percentage. As stated on page 92 of the Mid American Conference Compliance Handbook BG's cross division opponents winning percentage would be the highest based on their games versus Toledo, Western Michigan, and Ball State.
  11. Stop It!!!!!!!!! You are all truly idiots. It isn't that difficult to figure out. First, for the Zips to win the East and play in the Championship game the following scenario has to occur: 1. BG loses to Toledo 2. Miami loses to Ohio 3. Zips defeat Can't State This is the only scenario that allows Akron to win the East!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Second, the Zips are an absolutely awful football program. Do you people really think that they deserve to be champions of the east and play in the Championship game? How embarrassing that would be for the MAC. The fact that Akron is still mathematically alive in the East just proves how pathetic the MAC Conference has been this season. Give me a freakin' break!
  12. This game is almost un-watchable 1. Jim Donnan should not be allowed anywhere near a microphone. 2. The empty Rubber Bowl, in perfect weather conditions, is absolutely embarrassing. The Zips' Fans are truely pathetic. Why would you build a new stadium for these people? 3. How did the Zips win four games this year? They are awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Yo Sloopy...Thanks for the news update. I had no idea that Jim Pry was the offensive coordinator and not JD. Now a news update for you: "Coach" Brookhart calls every single offensive play. He has done so for the last two seasons. Jim Pry has the OC title in name only. The situation is the same as it was when JD was a slappy at Pitt. Walt Harris called every play but JD had the title as OC at Pitt.
  14. Fire the Offensive Coordinator???????????? The Offensive Coordinator/Guru is JD.
