  1. I'm not really sure how you can dismiss me as a jealous hater, when I am the only one here actually basing my statements on actual football. I have ZERO personal connection to Chris Wells or Delone Carter. But if you watch them both run against the same defense you would see how much harder it is to bring Delone down. I love Akron and would love to see them get top notch recruits just as much as you guys, so publicity wise, yeah that's great that he visited Akron. But if you go ask area high school linebackers if they think Wells was the best player they faced THIS SEASON and they will probably laugh at you.
  2. The #1 running back in the nation wouldn't crack our 2-deep?? You're insane. This kid is going to be a star. If you think he's the best high school running back in the nation you are a fool. The best running back in the nation would have ran for more then 98 yards on thirty some carries against Hoban. They wouldn't take themselves out of games on crucial fourth and 1's late in the fourth quarter. You all hear that some publications rank him number one and think he's the next messiah. If any of you saw him play you'd agree with me.
  3. Wells would not have even been three deep for Akron this year.
  4. Have you ever seen Wells play in person? If so which games? How much local high school football did you watch this year?
  5. Chris Wells make's Tyrell Sutton looked like chopped liver? You are out of your mind. If you had seen the two run in person you would see that Wells doesn't compare to Sutton or even Copley's Delone Carter in a lot of ways. Yeah Wells is a big recruit, but if you actually look see the kid play or hell, look at some of his numbers, he's not what he's made out to be. If you think he's going to be some sort of savior at Akron, you're wrong.
  6. Ok ToledoRockets. Here you go. Akron sucks. They got lucky this year and will be out of the MAC soon. Their attendance sucks. They are a big joke. Happy? Good, now leave.
  7. You could take in to consideration that it was about 10 degrees out with winds so bad people were having trouble walking. My blanket was so frozen I couldn't wrap it around myself. It also happened to be Thanksgiving morning. Over 7 of those 8,000 were Akron people too, no one from Can't was at the game. Being the best isn't about what people "believe" as you say. It's about winning when it counts. You keep telling us to "enjoy our 15-minutes." Which is what we are doing. Yet you keep trying to give us reasons not to be happy with our team? You're an idiot.
  8. I am not really sure what you want us Akron fans to say? We wish we would have lost? We didn't deserve any of this? This is a fluke and we are going to suck? Guess what. We are conference champs. Of the same conference you are in. Guess what that means. We are better than you. Not better last year or and previous year. I won't even mention future years. We are better than you this year. We beat a team TWICE that spanked you 35-17. We are conference champs. You are not. Suck on that.
  9. If you did any research, or were knowledgeable in general (wishful thinking i know), then you would be aware that this was really supposed to be Akron's down year, with lot's of transfers and such becoming eligible next year. And as far as this year goes...well guess what...we beat the top team from your side of things....twice. Had Toledo played a little better this year then you would have gotten to play Akron not in Akron, not in Toledo, but in Detroit. Your bitterness is amusing.
  10. I know I'll take some heat for this, but LO does deserve some of this credit. Alot of his players like Hixon and Kasparek came through big tonight. Also, I would like to irrelevantly point out that LO's last season was much like this season. Blew a lot of games we should've won and went 5-3 in the MAC. The cards really fell our way this year though, and this staff obviously knows how to win the big one. I would have to disagree somewhat about the seasons being similar. LO's 7-5 season was with, what? the second easiest schedule in the country? LO's last season was supposed to be good and ended up very mediocre, where as JD was supposed to have a down/rebuilding year and won the MAC championship and is going to the MCB. I dunno, I just have a hard time seeing the two coaches even being compared.
