  1. I went 3-5 because there's always a I-AA team and at least 1-2 other games Akron *should* win (cough, Can't, cough) but I'd also like to see at least 1 or 2 other games pulled off that were upsets. Anything more in year one is just gravy.
  2. So are you saying he hasn't asked for the U to release him from his scholarship then? Personally, I'd think the 2 years under Ionello would leave such a bad taste in my mouth I'd do about anything to support the new coaching staff and my teammates to end my Akron career on a positive note and be known as one of the guys who helped turn this program around. Just me though.
  3. While I wish him the best wherever he goes, as I enjoyed watching him as a player, I cannot admire the abandon ship philosophy nor will I accept the "lack of NFL exposure at Akron" garbage. Either way, I will fully support Coach Bowden and the players and fans who remain loyal to the cause.
  4. the shot still would have counted.....he shot it with more than a secomd left ob the clock :blink:Actually, no, it wouldn't have. It took 1.54 seconds to start the clock, he shot with 1.2. Do the math. Yeah, Akron still should have put it away but that doesn't make this any better... year end tourney's are a waste for situations EXACTLY like this. Why even play the season?
  5. Hot garbage plain and simple. Clock doesn't start on an obvious free throw miss but it johnny on the spot for an out of bounds pass... Akron is friggin cursed... And WTF was that "make-up" .6 second ruling about? Let's fix a total crap call with another junk one... nice work idiots.
  6. I think it was a countown to the season opener. Just checked again and after doing the math it looks like Sat. at 1pm which is the kickoff of the game. The sound is that thing from 24 I think, only excessively louder.
  7. Two words for you... Larry Kehres. (as in Mount Union College) How many offers of more money, bigger schools, etc. has he turned down (from D1 schools no less). To some people, there is more than money. There are the athletes. There is tradition, both built and maintained. And there is respect, which has to be earned. Only time will tell if JD is one of these very, very few types of coaches, but this fan hopes so.
