  1. First off, try beating us for once. Just one time now.Second of all, you guys talk as if you are kings of the conference. I've got news for you...We own the rubber bowl
Very classy of you fellas to come over and trash bbs. You are like Marshall fans without the winning teams or tradition. Try doing something before running your mouths.
First off hotpinksteve, we have won most recently in 2000 at the rubber bowl. Secondly we are the kings of the conference :macc: so get over it you whiny little boy. :chair: And lastly, you wrote the book on classy, we're just trying to keep up! I realize that your mouth runs faster than your brain, but once again we are :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: :macc: . Get used to it!
  2. Sorry captain, but Miami's hockey team is currently ranked #1 in the nation. Not an easy feat to accomplish.College hockey is a major draw and can sometimes rival that of college hoops. Unfortunately for you, the appeal is nonexistent for soccer especially in Akron.
Hey, Pink Steve. What the hell are you talking about?
Captain, it's actually hot pink. Hey hot pink steve, what the hell are you talking about? :macc: :macc: :macc: By the way stevie, there are many more Div 1 soccer programs in the country than your ranked hokey team! :chair::chair:
  3. I enjoy the Rasor stuff as much as the next guy. I'd love to see him as the Zips beat writer one day because he knows, and prints the information Zips fans want to know. He also has critical opinions on things more substantial than attendance. However, giving him space to write Zips info on Ohio.com is the television equivalent of the Zips getting "exposure" on ESPN360.
Is that ESPN 360 or ESPN "the ocho"?:rofl::cheers::laugh_up::thumb:
  4. miami is nothing but a bunch of A-holes. those arrogant bastards need a good ass kicking in the worst way. i'd be happy to pull a nebraska in the 90's and run the score way up
They have run the score up on us in the past and we should put one on them. In the '95 season they lit us up 65-0. Just for that we need to bury them at the RB this year by more than 65. They are arrogant bastards and we need to teach them a lesson. :gun::gun::gun::gun: miami go zips :macc:
  5. And what in the world was up with Holmgren. His play calling there made Lee Owens look competent.
While it's true that a head coach is in charge of all aspects of the team, the plays were called by Paul Winters and he therefore should get credit for the play selection. :)
  6. Nice second half by Can't. Our guys executed poorly, rebounded badly and still kept it from being a blowout. Part of the problem was Can't turned it up a notch and the rest in my opinion was our play. Our guys will regroup and return the favor Mar. 4 with interest. We seemed to have a short bench too. I never saw Rybak or Mraz and DP must have been hurting because he wasn't out there much. And as always, :screwks:

  7. I have to respectfully disagree. What makes us different from our "bigger" opponents is our size. Akron needs bigger players, not just more of the same.
Have you looked at this class? Size and speed. Depth is key and with these quality recruits that's exactly what the staff has brought into the program. At least Coach Brookhart said depth was key. Maybe he was wrong? I don't think so! :macc:
  8. When we're dancing in March and you losers are sitting home watching us play on CBS, just remember, you still have the Roo. This will be our eighth straight 20 win season!!!!!!! Choke on that Roo lovers!!!!
At least you still have a sport to cheer for. :wall: Sorry about ending that this year. Maybe your football team will........never mind.:cheers::screwks:
  9. Zen I agree. Building a small stadium is a bad idea and slows this programs growth. Why are people thinking small. Think big!
I appreciate your enthusiasm but the critical factor that you don't take into account enough is COST. This project will be very costly and will have to be built using private funding. No student fees. That then would indicate that the plan will need to be flexible. By flexible I mean that the construction will need to be done in stages. We start with a 25,000 seat stadium designed with the 35-45,000 seats the University may need in the future. I don't want to see the new stadium ruined because they need to start trimming this and that from the project for budgetary reasons. That is one reason why the JAR is what it is.When Canal Park was built, they left provisions for more seating capacity in case the team became a AAA affiliate. This is the same course that UA should follow so that a move to a larger conference, if needed, could be addressed.
