A program-best 11 members of the University of Akron track and field team will represent the Zips at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, June 10-13, in Eugene, Ore., after Akron capped the final day of the NCAA East Preliminary Round, hosted by the University of North Florida, on Saturday, May 30, with six Zips punching their tickets to nationals.

When we went to the Palmeiras game, the atmosphere was fantastic, it reminded me of home. The Palmeiras fans had similar passion to Liverpool fans. The best part about the game was experiencing this with my teammates. We got involved with the chants and had a lot of fun!

Today was an early morning for us. We had to be up for breakfast at 6:30, which is 5:30 state side, for our game at 10 in Sao Paulo. If you could see the guys walking into breakfast you would definitely notice that we were all tired and sore, but we were going to push past it regardless. We were about to do something that we all loved: the opportunity to play football with each other. Today was all about our mentality and a day for us to get better, both collectively and individually.
