  1. While I don't believe in an officiating conspiracy, something Districtballer said at least conjures images of an NCAA conspiracy. We know that VCU was the worst possible matchup for the Zips in the tournament because of our guard shortage. Districtballer pointed out that Michigan was the worst possible matchup for VCU because Michigan is best in the country at guarding the ball. So what the NCAA set up in that little 4-team corner of the South Regional was first one mid-major (VCU) most likely to take out another mid-major (Zips), and then another matchup (Michigan vs. VCU) most likely to knock out another mid-major. Could be pure coincidence, but still good fodder for conspiracy theorists. Whether by chance or design, it does point out that some teams end up with easier paths to the title than others, and the paths may be completely different for teams with different strengths and weaknesses. Tournament seedings produce an interesting study in rock-paper-scissors.

I thought it was funny how Louisville got the #1 overall and they played in Lexington. Kansas got the 2 over all and they payed in Kansas City. And so on down the line for seeds 2 3 and even some fours. Such as Ohio State got to play in Dayton. There is no such thing as number one overall in my mind. Its all about location and whats going to bring in the most money.

  2. Do you guys realize we lost by the widest margin in the 75 year history of the tournament? There is no way I'm putting that solely on the missing talent from this game. The talent level between these two teams was not that great that a record loss should have been set.

    Loyola 111, Tennessee Tech 42

    (South regional first round, 1963

    Kansas 110, Prairie View 52

    (Midwest regional first round, 1998)

ESPN said it was the largest 5-12 match up difference but not in tournament history overall.

Still embarrassing but not the worst ever

  3. Right now we only have 12 players on scholarship. Egner has officially left the program at the semester break. So that leaves us with four openings for next year and now we have 5 incoming players. It looks like Justice is on the hot seat now. His inability to handle the ball will be the reason for his departure. We have plenty of big guys, now we need someone to get them the ball.

    2012/2013 players on scholarship;

    Zeke sr

    Walsh sr

    Chauncey sr

    Tree jr

    Harney jr

    Alex jr

    Melo fr

    Kretzer fr

    McAdams fr

    Deji so

    Pat F rfr

    Justice rfr

Well one zips player might see a silver lining to Abreu's poor decisions. I'm sure he's not happy that it happened but it might just work out in his favor for his future in Akron...if Abreu is not coming back.

Now let me be clear. I am not saying anything bad about anyone and I hope everything works itself out in court for AA. If he's guilty he's guilty if not that's great. But either way I'm not sure he's returning next year.

Now lets hope we make this NCAA run....For our current players and for future recruiting years.

    Go Zips!!

  5. Christian might go, but I always thought his was goal was to get to an East Coast team, and this is pretty much the exact opposite of that. I actually hope Christian goes. His team will fall apart without him there to hold together his JUCO amalgm and nobody able to find replacements. It's a recipe for disaster once he leaves, and it would be beautiful to see them fall like that.
That would make the rivalry worse if they have a bad team...It's not fun when two rivals are not at the same caliber of play. And also isnt KD wrapped up till 2014?
  6. I dont know i was down behind the hoop with Miami fans tonight and looking around it just looked and sounded like Can't fans where everywhere...we filled up our two sections and had fans scattered all around but the majority were Can't fans. Just a sea of piss out there
