  1. We're one of the only 1-A schools that I know of that doesn't have one. I would've had quite a few choice words had I been able to get on the air waves last night.....and definately tonight.
  2. Called the same number, heard it too. Is that there way of making amends for the stupidity at the highest level, by putting our damn fight song on the damn voicemail??
  3. You're right, almost every single one of us has put tens of thousands of dollars into the University, attended countless hours of athletic events, and supported our teams with everything we've got, living and dying with them. Tonight, there's a lot of dead people out there, and an explanation is deserved ASAP.
  4. And he'd better release a statement in the next 24 hours as to what the hell this mess is all about. If he's not getting to the bottom of it right now, along with what happened last night, then he's not doing his job and doesn't deserve to sit in the chair.
  5. I agree, I'd love to hear Dambrot just completely blast the conference and the selection committees. He can be as politically incorrect as he wants to be, hell I'd even like to see him drop a few F bombs. I'd be 100% in his corner.
  6. Board admins and leaders around here should get something organized. If there's anything that I've learned this weekend, it's that we have better fan support than I ever thought when we have a winning product. There's a lot of outraged people tonight. This is an opportunity to flex some serious Zips Nation muscle.
  7. Mack should be on the phones right now raising some serious hell. He should also be releasing a statement soon as to what the F happened. The team and fans deserve as much.
  8. Most likely scenario in the whole turn it down thing if you ask me......The JAR is booked for OHSAA games. If that's the case, Mack Rhoades will have had one short stint as AD in Akron.
  9. If we declined this because of some damn OHSAA tournament games then some heads are going to roll in the comfy chairs up in the James A. Rhoades arena. Believe that. Like I said earlier, we could've played the damn thing in Memorial or sent the OHSAA over to Can't State.
  10. yeah they can because some of the days they have 2 a days, and each session counts as a practice. There are no two-a-days in Spring practice. Could it be that there are going to be two Spring games, one on campus and one at the Rubber Bowl, like in JD's first season? That would make sense out of the 15th and 22nd confusion.
  11. I live outside the Cleveland market, so please post his comments on here afterwards.
  12. I'd love to get out of the MAC, and we'd have options for basketball, but I don't know what we'd do with football. With the way bowl bids are now-a-days, you can't be an independent, and what would our other option be, C-DOA?
  13. The can't criticize the NIT, it'd be a horrible business move. Trust me, jaws dropped in that room when we weren't included.
  14. If our administration turned down a bid because of a scheduling conflict in the JAR then the Zips Nation will be marching to Rhoades office Monday and demanding his resignation along with his entire staff. We could've played the fucking thing in Memorial, because you don't do that to players and fans no matter what the circumstance. I pray to God that's not true and I'm pretty sure its not.
  15. The only problem is I think its a good conference and we need the conference for football. For basketball, I agree, we would be better off as an independent, or, I can't believe I'm saying this, but even the Horizon League would get us more respect than this shit.
  16. No way. No chance in hell. You don't turn down the chance to be on national tv and get national exposure. Whoever made that post is an idiot (not surprising given the website). We just got flat out bent over and fucked in the ass.... for the second night in a row.
  17. I think the logic was that Miami got an extra .6 seconds, so we should too. In reality, they got an extra 1.5 seconds and the game should've been over. Couple all of this with what just happened tonight, and this is the biggest travesty in the history of Akron athletics. It's a dark day in the Zips Nation.
  18. Gosh I'm almost speechless..... I just really feel for the players right now. 26 wins....26!!!! And when I look at some of the teams selected over us, it makes me sick. This is an outrage not just for Akron, but for the entire conference. I don't know what to say other than WOW.
  19. Ok, now that I'm over my absolute fury and embarrassment and thinking clearly, I'd like to propose this to you guys. Could it be that losing and going to the NIT instead of the NCAA be a blessing in disguise?? I know we all wanted to go to the big dance, and we deserve to be in the big dance as both players and fans, and it would've been a big step to go to the dance, BUT..... looking at the field for the NIT, I think we could very well win the whole thing. Now we'd all like to think that we could've made some noise in the tourney, but in all probability we would've been a one and done or at best been gone in two, with minimum national coverage. If we go and win the NIT however..... that puts the Akron brand under a much broader national spotlight. Technically I think it would be much bigger for the program to win the NIT than to be one and done in the tourney. An NIT championship could be a launching pad for a national program under Dambrot, as that's how Calipari really got the ball rolling again at a down Memphis program a few years back. What do you guys think?
  20. Zips fan or anybody else watching.... what does the crowd look like? And is it pro Akron or pro Can't?
  21. I think Dambrot and the boys are going to have a serious gut check at halftime. The season sweep doesn't matter one bit if we lose tonight. 25 wins out the window. The season will be a failure and Rome and Dru will leave Akron having accomplished nothing. I'll look for some fire to close the game.
  22. Not lookin good boys.... not lookin good at all.
  23. Nate Robinson will have to make the Akron roster before he thinks about the NFL. From what I've heard he's one of the laziest athletes in the country. Not to be a downer about a guy everyone's excited for, but there's a reason he doesn't stick anywhere he goes.I'd say the only guys on the Zips roster right now that will have NFL careers are Alleman and Arthur because they have the two things that get you to the NFL and sustain you there. Talent AND a work ethic. You'll never make it in the NFL out of a place like Akron unless you have BOTH.
  24. I made an hour and a half drive for the spring game yesterday and I wasn't disappointed. I thought Getsy looked great and though Kennedy's stats weren't incredible, he showed a flush of absolute greatness on one of his runs early on away from the stands. Also, was it just me or did the backup defense look better than the first string? I didn't know who any of those guys were on the backup defensive line but they seemed to control the line of scrimmage better especially on stretch plays, and Balaam and some of the other linebackers were really filling holes. Maybe it's not so much the defense though as opposed to a huge drop off in talent from the starting OFFENSE to the backups. Also, I wasn't impressed with the transfer from Minnesota. I made it a point to watch him and he got absolutely dominated a couple of times by backup defensive linemen.
