Me too. He's in their online roster.
The Zips football team seems to be only program in college athletics that has any sort of academic standard held against them in the year of 2025.

Last I checked, you have to be enrolled as a full time student in order to be play sports. What am I missing??

I’m not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure that most programs say goodbye to players when they enter the portal, it’s common practice. It’s not a matter of being stubborn it’s just a reality. Can you imagine if you didn’t do that? Every kid could just enter the portal and see what they get and come back if they don’t find what they want.
I don’t know, but I’m sure glad Groce brought back Ali Ali and Tavari Johnson.

Can you elaborate on that? How so?
I’m purely speculating, but from the outside looking in, Joe Mo doesn’t seem to have the type of personality to attract donors (for NIL purposes) like Groce seems to have. I just don’t know how fit he is to be a HC in this age of CFB.
I heard Summers was only able to come back as a walk on after entering the portal. I swore I read something on here or elsewhere where he said he wouldn’t take somebody back who entered the portal (which I get to an extent but you have to put stubbornness aside when the program doesn’t have $ to work with). Feel like that was in reference to Jordon Simmons.
I think he’s also somewhat to blame (most goes to Arth) for the bowl ban mess, but understand it’s a delicate balance and tough position to be in.I think Joe is a good football mind, seems like a solid person, and is pretty much doing the best anyone else would be doing here in this era of college athletics. But if we want to be a respectable G5 program, he needs to adapt. Additionally, regardless of who the HC is, the University/Alumni/fan base need to step up their support. I don’t think any HC is going to produce a regular winner here without a respectable budget and NIL support.

Football at Fordham is an afterthought. Not much pressure from the alumni or community to have a big winner.
Football feels like an afterthought at Akron as well. No community or booster support (NIL), constant bashing of the program.

If Akron can stumble to 5 wins that way it's good enough to take pressure off firing him, but not good enough to extend would likely be the best case scenario.
If that were the case, it’s pretty hard not to extend the coach who would have the most wins since 2017 and elevated the program in back to back years, especially with all that the program has going against it (and fwiw I think Joe plays a part in that too).

Time to start talking about an extension!
Well Chuck Guthrie did extend him after winning 2 games…

Zips get one of those four. If they are going to do that it needs to be next weekend. It will be Miami's second road game in a row. Akron pulls off an upset at The Big Dialer. 31-28.
That may be the best outcome for everyone lol. Tangible progress by increasing wins from last season, no legal bills trying to get the bowl ban overturned, and no wasted expenses for a likely bowl game blow out.

Yep this will somehow be the year we get to six - and then get denied bowl participation.
It was probably posted on here before, but Joe said during his post game presser that we have to practice one less day than everyone else (and did so last year as well) due to this bs.

Under the assumption we are favorites vs Kent and umASS (though there is no such thing as a penciled in win for us), can we get 2 out of the 4 vs Ball St, Buffalo, Miami, and BG to get to 6?

I'm out of town and watching this on a feed. Did the zips really get called twice in this drive for top many men on the field?
I didn’t notice on the first one, but the second one definitely seemed like we were trying to game the system and draw a delay of game on CMU due to them having a late sub and us being entitled to sub. However, the ref let them snap (right or wrong I don’t know) before our guy got off the field. Our guy was definitely taking his time.

Okay that was a nice play call.

Definite candidate for dumbass play of the day.
It was a tough call but I don’t think egregious. Blunder by CMU counters us!

Man if Gant was faster he’d have two TDs so far

Oh crap Akron leads. Color me wrong, I guess
Kyan Mason is one of the few players that can make a play.

I'd bet money Patrick is using his redshirt.
Thought the same, but he redshirted last year though.

Nothing like taking a 10 yard sack on 3rd down to take us out of FG range. FG missed as expected.

Anyone know what the deal with Sean Patrick is? We always have all these key players out without any idea why. Still wondering why Daymon David hasn’t played a snap this year.

Dumb in the classroom. Dumb on the field.
And it cost us points like it did against UAB

Gage Summers called for another “disconcerting signal” penalty. Smh

Use your 2nd timeout in your first offensive possession at midfield just to punt it smh.

And if a booster does step up to fire Moorhead, they need to be ready to step up in other ways. That is, supporting our program to have a respectable operating budget compared to our peers and NIL, or it’s all wasted money because nothing will change.
