After a nice start to the season Akron baseball has taken it up the tank for the past three weeks. After the twinbill sweep at Ohio U on Saturday the team is eliminated. Why can't Akron baseball be a contender? It's been more than a decade since Akron has been in a position to play for a title. Wonder if a change will be made here or if they just put this sport on the junk pile and forget about it. Same goes for Softball. Not much here since Joey A left the dugout. Golf is a joke of a program. All of the best facilities in the league and nothing to show for it. I could go out and breat 80 3 times, if they let me use a cart. This coach must have some fairy godmother watching his ass because Akron golf is the bottom of the MAC. Tennis is a joke too. Good start - crap finish. The only sport worth the time of writing about is Track. This program constantly makes waves in terms of individual titles. Bet the new field house will help make a push for a team title soon.

I played in this event two years ago and it was a good time. Last year sucked. Hopefully the change in course will help out. Raintree really sucks. The best thing about the event is mixing it up with the coaches. With a new bunch this should be a great time to get to know the new coaches from football and basketball.

Akron does not need to build a new stadium. Akron needs to win games.

With Terry joining the staff at Akron it looks like Dambrodt has 5 assistant coaches, unless someone has left and we do not know. Kraley, Smart, Yater from last year's group plus Paris and Terry. That makes a total of 6 coaches for 13 scholarship players. Does anyone else find this to be too many?

From what I heard last night at the Varsity A raffle the new turf has not been put in yet because the project is held up in bankruptcy court. Same with a few other NFL and college teams. The weight room and lockerroom will be ready by July 1 and the outdoor project by the same time. Lots of dirt has been moved in front of the new student center for the practice facility. No photos means no progress on the field house.

I agree. No real surprise to me that the Zip players did not get drafted.
