I agree, Mattocks lack of maturity shows. Even before Red, I was disappointed with number of offside calls.Playing through balls to a center forward seldom works against a good defense. Center forward should be checking back to the ball most of the time drawing the defense with them. Through balls should be played to overlapping playersrunning through from the midfield after the defense is drawn out. I am probably wrong but that's how I see it and how I used to coach it.

Let the officals do what they will, and then adjust to the officials. Akron failed to adjust to the officials. When they ain't calling it, meet thugery with greater thugery! where were the referees? For some reason, in America, referees tend to allow the physical play distroy the beauty of the game. I have read that all the European leagues have been cracking own on this. It is about time that MLS and the NCAA crack down on this as well or the beautiful game has no chance to be successful in the US. Sidenote: need to punish diving as well
