I used to live in Nome (to the west of Fairbanks) and am hoping to make the trip as well. I have some friends in Fairbanks so we'll see.GoZips:People, if you go to Fairbanks in late November, you had better dress warm, because you will experience cold like you've never felt in your life. The average temp in FAI is 2.7 in November. It can go as low as -66, that's before you include windchill. When I lived up there, it was -30 in November.Also, it will take at least 24 hours to get up there on a reasonably priced ticket. That includes layover time. Alaska is 4 hours behind eastern time. It's 12am here, it's 8pm there.Fairbanks is barely below the arctic circle, so you'll have "some" daylight in November. The sun will rise around 11am, and set 3 or 4pmish.There's more, but I'm too tired to type any more. Oh, to anyone taking kids, they need to seriously be bundled up. If the weather is right, you may have windchills nearing -70.

I could very well be living in Nome again next year at that time. I'll put some Rowdies up at my place and we can all fly over to Fairbanks for the games.
Seriously though, If I am living up there again, I'm definately making the trip over to Fairbanks for this! -

I would personally put forth as much effort as possible to help get any and all items designed with the number 26 on them. Hats, shirts, whatever. I've been through a lot as a fan of all northeast Ohio sports. This hurts more than all of those put together.

Can't's fans are pathetic. The only time you heard a damn thing out of them the first 35 minutes was when they'd get within 8 points. I made the comment to a friend that their student section closest to the Rowdies spent more time watching us than watching the game. They also go to watch us celebrate a MAC East Championship, on their floor, on their senior night

I've been watching basketball all afternoon (Louisville & UCONN, Duke & St. Johns) and have seen the same direct tv commercial a bunch of times. In the commercial there's a sidebar with fake games and scores going on. One of the games is #14 seed Akron playing #3 Pitt. However, the score is 73-70 Pitt
Just found it interesting and wondered if anyone else has seen it. -

Very nice of the athletic department to let us sit wherever. Both my friends canceled on going because of the weather, but there was no way I was missing this game. I went from sitting up on the bleachers to right behind the OU bench

Time Warner in Akron dumped ESPN Classic off of channel 34 a few weeks ago. Perhaps they're planning on adding ESPNU in it's place? I hope so...I've had enough poker re-runs to last the rest of my life.
