  1. Just a little FYI: I didn't even mention where Cody played high school football in my original story. Here's the dilemma: while some mistakes do get in the paper, there are at least two editors looking at copy. When writing on deadline, that's a necessity. No one is perfect and I certainly strive for perfection, but if certain members of this community feel as if they can do a better job, you're welcome to apply for it. As for making mistakes here? Seriously? When I bother to reply, I'm typing off the top of my head. For those who can't handle that, there's a simple solution.
  2. Why yes, he does, and considering I've been working since 8:30 this a.m., I may get a little tired and fingers may move faster than I'm thinking right now. Again, thanks for your concern.
  3. I am hear with my editor's full knowledge and encouragement. Anyone here can tell you that I am not a rah-rah guy. My degree, in fact, is from one of their backyard rivals. Thanks for your concern.
  4. It's no longer a concern, he practiced today.
  5. Dr. Z: When I last saw Quincy, he had a 'fro.
  6. No, I generally take pride in doing a good job. Let's call it added incentive.
  7. Competition isn't really hiring anyone. Secondly, giving up close to 14 years of seniority in the current environment would be - to paraphrase the knight in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - unwise. Just sayin'.
  8. It was important for me to do justice to a story on Tree for one reason: we attended the same high school. I graduated nine years prior to his birth, but once a Panther...
  9. My guess is Betancourt starts and Deji backs him up. Deji has seen time - albeit limited time - at the PG position this season.

  11. 75-100 extra free throws AFTER practice. Tree gets it. I teased him about FTs in practice after that 3-of-11 effort. His reply: I don't tell you how to write your articles. I don't let you know when you have sentence fragments.

  19. Dr. Z: You know I rarely comment here, primarily because of professional reasons, but here I make an exception. It's unrealistic to expect the Zips to beat teams like EMU by 25 night in and night out, but they should be doing it more than they are. Too often they play to the level of their competition. Close games may serve them well in the end, but a few blowouts go a long way psychologically. Keith downplays that. We shall see what happens. As for comments before of Riley being a cupcake, that may be the case, but that doesn't negate the overall size of that front court. If the Zips allow them to hang around too long anything can happen. Fans here can also downplay home court advantage, but for the Zips to go in there and think that the Eagles are going to roll over would be a major mistake and the height of arrogance.
  20. I appreciate the compliment, but until I can amass the knowledge that Elton has, I'm nowhere near his equal. But do indulge me as I continue to work on it.

  23. Thanks Dr. Z. I've seen plenty of Ts and baseball caps around where I live in suburban Cleveland, but haven't seen much in the way of jerseys. So I understand.
