Skip we actually traded for the second round pick. I think the only reason he went to #22 was because no one really needed a quarterback. I'm just thinking that looking at the college talent out their now that I don't see a quarterback that is going to graduate or come out early next year that may be better than Quinn. I'm not trying to defend Quinn or Savage. I could be wrong and I hope that all our skepticism is way off and they kid proves us wrong. Like many Skip-Zip, I just want to see some positivity surround the organization for once you know.

Wow, alot of different reactions about the picks the Browns made in this draft. I find it hard to believe that people are finding so many negatives in picking up what many experts believe to be 2 of the top 5 players in the 2007 draft. People seem to have a few reoccurring rants:1. We gave up our number one pick next year , who some are calling the future of the browns, for a #22 quarterback. The Browns are expected to be much better which means their record should improve. Even if they are a .500 team, they will get something like a 13 to 17 pick. How many players do you know that are so dynamic, so skillful that they will become the future of the team in this pick range? This is usually the range for solid defensive players, no one who is going to make or break a franchise.2. Brady Quinn will not start for the Browns. Even if Charlie can play sub par, we will be on the field. Quinn at least needs a year to learn the system and develop. Charlie is a student of the game who many regard as extremely hard working. He will have a job with the Browns.3. I think, and you may disagree but I think I'm right, that many people hate Brady Quinn because he is from Notre Dame. Face it, Notre Dame is the New York Yankees of college football. Either you love em or you hate em. Would any of these arguments be going on if Quinn was a Buckeye? How quickly we forget that Quinn grew up in Dublin, Ohio and played his high school ball there. Not to mention the kid WANTS TO PLAY FOR THE BROWNS. How many college quarterbacks of good to great skills want to play for a franchise who was not had success in so long.My point is that I think Browns fans are turning a very positive thing into a negative for the wrong reasons. I'm a Browns fan and I honestly think that we are the only fan base that would turn the best draft we ever had (arguably) into a negative thing. Just my thoughts people.

I don't think it was an earthquake, it was probably and EARRRRTTHHHHQQQUUADDEE. He was probably in a remote gym taking out his frustrations from over the weekend on the rim by doing numerous rim rocking dunks.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the AK-ROWDIES are trying to gather as many fans as possible to send the men's team out in style tomorrow at 11:45 am in the JAR main lobby. Sounds like they would like to make a "tunnell" of fans to cheer them on as they get on the bus. See you there folks!!

Yeah the "ak-rowdy" group has been on facebook for over three years now and has no affiliation to the group. There is an official AK-ROWDIES group on facebook that I know one of the board members runs and updates weekly. There is also a myspace group that was created last year. It is rarely updated though so maybe you could contact the admin on that and work with him/her.

Sweet clip sgm405. If you guys get a chance check out the clip of John Rybak, Zach Sowers, Jimmy Conyers, Nate Linhart, and Jeremy Salee doing a skit to "Lean Wit It Rock Wit It". Just do a search for Akron or Akron Basketball on YouTube and it comes up. It's absolutely hillarious!

God lets hope that he accepts. I got the chance to see him play in a couple of McKinley's playoff games and it is an understatement to say this kid is the real deal. He finds holes well, hits them hard, and has some breakaway speed. This would be a HUGE pickup for the Zips.

The good thing is we are going to get to play a few of the teams on this list too. Good to see some good publicity such as this even if it is kind of an unofficial list. Good stuff Bleacher Bum!

First off great job Eric! Everyone makes mistakes and as I say "it's not if you make a mistake, it's how you deal with it." You dealt with this well and I hope you guys are able to come so a solution with the AK-ROWDIES member who kicked out of the section Saturday. As far as attendance goes, I would not be too concerned yet. We are yet to play a good nonconference game or MAC game. If people don't show up to these contests, then we all should worry. Besides that rifle(forget the rest) brought up some very good points. I think once the new semester starts you will see a tremendous increase in attendance. Don't worry Eric, things will be on the up.

God you said it boys. Nothing grinds my gears more than when you see people on campus or at games with Can't, Ohio State, or OU stuff on. GRRRRRRR.....

I agree with some of your points sgm405. One thing I do know is that the group that are in place right now are extrememly decent human beings who care alot about this university's sports teams. I know some people are not receiving there emails and I know from helping out last year that many people simply do not put a correct email address down because they think they are going to get spam and mass emails. I overheard a board member at the game say that they are calling all of those people to correct the problem. As for the shirt thing; I understand your complaint. I know the president and board members have been keeping office hours and have been making special arrangements to get people their shirts if they contact a board member. Maybe pass that on to your buddy and the problem can be resolved. I think the reason they are doing this is to prevent what happened last year. The finals numbers were approximately 820 members. Of those 820, roughly 350 actually came to pick up their shirt (given three months to do so), and roughly 175 came to atleast one game. Since the AK-ROWDIES are a student organization, I assume they are managing their own funds and have taken this into effect when asking students to come pick up their stuff at certain times and places. Well Ihope everything gets resolved because two things are for certain, we have the biggest game in recent Zips history coming up (Nevada at home) and we all just wanna root on the Zips! Easy boys easyyyy.. We are all here for one reason...to cheer on the Zips. I applaud the AK-ROWDIES leaders and members in attendance Monday. Sure some cheers are old and outdated, and yes there was little notice, but the meeting accomplished a few key things. 1.) It got the AK-ROWDIES back together for the first time in a long time. 2.) I was very informative for new members who aren't aware of seating arrangements, the general location of the JAR, and they got to meet the board members who they can go to with any questions. 3.) We got a great t-shirt. I love the Real Zips of Genius message. The gold color of the shirts also resembles the color on many of our teams uniforms which is a lighter gold. From what I understand it is officially a gold color. Let's all remember that this is the first year that the AK-ROWDIES is a student organization. This means that students have control of the organization and are doing all the work. So there are going to be some bumps on the road and thus far there have been. At the end of the day though we are on the same team. Let's help one another as general board members and officers to make the AK-ROWDIES great.
