Most accurate statment I have read in a long time. Being a 'mid-major', how I cringe at that term, we have to take chances, just as long as we don't take too many chances that we hurt ourselves.

Let's say it is an isolated incedent and we have a scholarship available.Do you think it would help with local recruiting because we offered a kid that The Ohio State Penitentiary rescinded on? I mean could this be the positive impact in the local area that we are looking for? You know if we offer Devoe he is going to go back and talk to other players saying Akron swooped in and offered after those 'you know whats' from Columbus took the offer off the table.just a thought.

Great Post Captain and UA1987 as well. JD is a quality coach and is learning as he goes. I think he is doing a good job, but he needs to get in the ear of the OC this year and next, that is his background, he needs to question the calls at times IMO.UA1987 stated that we are in good shape with the Special Teams, isn't that the group that JD is working with? JD has vastly turned that area around, kicking and punting has gotten better, granted having Igor back helps, but Stec has improved tremendously.JD is a quality coach and person, he cares a great deal for his players and is always upfront and doesn't usually hold anything back from the fans! I never bought season tickets for Akron Football until I met JD, granted UA is my alma mater, but I never needed to buy tickets, still don't cause of my current position, but I buy them in support of JD and because I believe in what he is trying to do.

All I want to say is that I went to the game yesteday wearing my Akron jersey proud, never once was I harassed, I got asked questions like 'what's a zip?' But thats to be expected. I get asked that when ever I go to a visiting stadium.There were over 100,000 fans there rooting for OSU and I never once got boo'd or harrassed, in fact I got a few GO Zips from buckeye fans. I even talked to alot of them and most of them had good comments about our program and congratulated us on the announcement for the new stadium, some even stated that they would like to come to that home opener. Now whether they were being jerks or not I don't know I was looking for signs that would lead me to believe they were being sarcastic but I never once saw any or got that vibe. Some of the drunk students were trying to be funny but once I started talking to them they were really cool and just enjoying the competitive atmosphere.Now they only real problem I had yesterday was during the game. I didn't enjoy the comments that OSU was playing badly, that's demeaning, why wasn't it, 'man, Akron came to play and they are giving us a game.' Those comments upset me. Akron played tough for 2-1/2 quarters, then finally OSU's 3-4 deep at each position wore on Akron's 1-2 deep at each position and the game broke open. So to end, pre-game, I thought the fans were very respectable, during the game I felt they were a little arrogant - thinking they were playing bad rather then Akron just matching their intensity and talent and competing in a physical game.

Man Wake has made two subtitutions already, 1 in the 20th minute and 1 in the 22nd minute. They must have an extremely deep bench.Come On Zips, let's get another goal!

Yeah, that is true this year but you have to remember this team is extremely young, we have many exciting years left at Akron with Caleb at the helm and his recruiting efforts.
