  1. Dambrot has been very lucky in the MAC to have had Zeke Marshall and now Pat Forsythe and Isaiah Johnson on his teams. I have to question how he uses these players, though. It is shocking to me that Isaiah Johnson will be starting over Pat Forsythe tonight vs Ball State. I really don't see any athletic ability...or am I missing something? This will probably be Forsythe's last year at Akron due to the inconsistencies of the coaching, rumor has it. Your thoughts and basketball knowledge are very much appreciated. I love learning about players, coaches and programs. GO ZIPS!
  2. I believe that the Zips take way too many three's, especially with two big men down low. Need to slash and cut more to the basket, rather than laying back and jacking up three's. Toledo head coach will have his team ready for the inside game of Pat and Isaiah. He was a post man in college and heavily recruited Pat in high school when he took the job. It will be an interesting match-up.
  3. I was surprised to hear Keith Dambrot, at the end of the Marshall game say, if anybody told him that Pat would be playing better than Big Dog he would have laughed in their face. Just curious your thoughts on this comment.
  4. Harney and Tree are what we call "ball stoppers" when running an offense. Tree had no idea how to pass out of double or triple team down-low and when he took the double and triple threat on, he was fouled, and it was an event at the foul line with him. I love how Forsythe and Cheatham play the high-low, and the spacing and the ball movement has just been very surprising. Pat's stock is definitely growing now that he has been given the opportunity and definitely more scouts will be around to see this 6'11" post.

  5. It's nice to see a team play as a team. And we don't miss Tree's acrobatic shots in double and triple teams, not knowing how to throw out of those. Have to stay consistent. Great win!
  6. There are not too many 6'11" kids in the country with his agility. Hence, NBA scouts. Wrong system. Would flourish with a post oriented coach. I just know basketball and actually talked to scouts at last year's MAC tournament. They were there scouting two people, Forsythe and Whittington.
  7. Dambrot needs to learn how to use a 6'11" transfer from WVU. This kid is being scouted by NBA teams and is not being used in this offense. Watch this kid seal his player every game. He needs more touches. The tapes and the scouts don't lie. There are not too many 6'11" kids in the country with this kind of footwork and potential. What a waste!
