Think about it this way. We move the band over to the other side by the cheerleaders and they are playing right into our guys bench and huddle during timeouts. I personally want them to hear everything that coach is telling/yelling at them. There is just a little food for thought.

I wouldn't have believed it if i didn't read it for myself. So here is the link.http://www.ubtrueblue.com/You have to scroll down a little bit, but its on there.

I'm totally looking forward to Wednesday when Buffalo and Mr. Witherspoon come to the JAR. What i am more excited about is that through the Canadian winds has flown a interesting piece of news. A bus full of True Blue members from the buffalo student section are making the trip to the JAR. All i have to say is, its about time. Hope that everyone gets their butts to this game not only for our seniors, but to show buffalo that they are in Canada and they need to stay there with their hockey sticks and their labatt blues.

We have been looking for someone to make us a website. There were a couple of options we had this year and we were not able to take them because of high price or not what we were looking for. Does that mean we are giving up on making a website? Not at all. We are just trying to find the right fit.The new president will be annouced sometime next week. The election process is set to begin next monday. You will all know soon enough who the new board members will be.

I was just having a conversation with the future president of the Rowdies. I told them that the problem i saw the most with the past presidents was that they were only in the position for one year. None of the past presidents in the last three years were ever in office for more than a year. It seemed like in that year they never got to the point where anyone in athletics or the higher offcials (whatever you want to call them) got to know these people and found out how they work or what not. The president that is going to take office on May 1st has the opportunity to be in office for multiple years. They will be able to work with the same people for a few years if possible so i see things turning around alot within the next couple years.

Yeah the president next year is going to turn things up a notch, but then again this person can only do as much as the athletics department will let him. Not to mention this year we had 1400 people sign up for the organization and only 100-150 people actually showed up. So thats 150 fans of our sports teams and 1250 people who just wanted the damn t-shirt. Yes we did things at orientation this past summer, we also did set up a table in the student union for an entire week for around 3 hours a day the first week of school. I remember seeing that someone stated that they came to every basketball game this year and didnt see anywhere to sign up. Well if you came in the student entrance you walked right past us doing the sign ups EVERY TIME! Those people handing out the wristbands for the lower seats? They were doing the sign ups, for future reference. Anyway the president next year will turn things up a notch.

Hopefully most of you have heard of the Relay for Life cancer walk. Maybe you have participated in one or know someone who has been in one. If nnot here is a little background on the event:Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people to: Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight.Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, people who have walked alongside people battling cancer can grieve and find healing.Fight Back. We Relay because we have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease. This year the AK-Rowdies have gotten a team together to participate in the Relay for Life. We also have been challenged by Can't State to see who can raise the most money. If you wish to donate some money here is how you would do it:Go to http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=16548Click on the donate button right there on the main pageSearch for the AK-Rowdies teamClick on our team name when it comes upThen you click Donate again once on our team pageFill out the information asked for on that page.Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated, the rowdies are very excited to be participating in this event.Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope to beat Can't state one more time with your help.

Throughout this year the Rowdies have been in the ear of every coach. Last night was no different. Mr. Coles heard everything you could think of from the south side of the court. Such as asking if he was wearing a new shirt or if its been the same one for the last century, wondering why he looks so much like Doc Brown from Back to the Future, to even asking if miami had any magic left from a few years ago (still hurts, i know.....sorry)(and they did). When it was all said and done the zips had won and charlie went back to the locker room with his team. I thought that was the end of it but i was mistaken. Mr. Coles came back out to do the radio interview with the miami broadcast team and some of the Rowdies were still standing around chatting about the game. Mr. Coles came up to each one of us and shook our hands and told us that we make the road trips to akron fun for him and his team. He then went to our big pimpin, Ian Tayek, and told him that when they were watching the game film they watched him to see how the rowdies react to certain situations. Charlie Coles is a class act, and a very respectable man. The Rowdies have nothing but respect for him. Just thought everyone here should know what a great man he is.

New Toledo Coach Getting Started
AwesomeDude replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Liked how in the article the assitant coach from miami warned him about the O-Zone and their winning team losing team chant but didnt warn him about the I Believe from the Rowdies. Im sure he will learn it quicker than he expected. -
Hey Fleming can you honestly say you respect the band what-so-ever? Na i didnt think so. You say i need a midol? Fine maybe i do but im finally tired of the band getting shit on so sorry for flying off the handle about something i feel strongly about.
-
Ok for those of you who are saying that the band people are living in the past you are correct. But if im not mistaken this thread is called UA TRADITIONS.........and arent traditions things that are from the past? Hmmmmm. Dumbasses! You want to sit here and tell the people in the band who have to have the 2 fight songs (yes i bet none of you knew there were 2 fight songs) and the alma matter (in 4 part harmony) memorized by the 2nd day of band camp, you want to sit there and tell us we are wrong? Well screw that! I believe that your little cup does say that because yes i have a couple of them as well. Thats a Cup, not the ACTUAL musical notes on the musical staff with the freaking words to the fight song. The dictionary defines tradition as the handing down of statements, beliefs, legends, customs, information, etc., from generation to generation, esp. by word of mouth or by practice. The band does it every year the same way. This is why the band never shows up to anything really because you F_ _ _ers never pay attention in the first place and we dont get the respect that we deserve. Oh its halftime lets go do something else theres nothing going on at halftime. If thats your attitude im glad that im not in band anymore and im glad i will be sitting all alone in the stands watching the band at halftime. Other than that if you dont like what i said here i dont give to shits and if you dont agree with them then go to Can't and leave this place alone assholes.

Wrong!!! Not a fellow team mate telling on them. These lovely young women are friends with their coach on facebook. Thats how they were caught.
