akronad Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 http://www.ohio.com/news/break_news/26030764.htmlAccording to the media, it looks we will be looking up to the rest of teams in the Est this season Quote

Dr Z Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 Phil Steele is the only one I'll ever listen to. :lol:Like this gem by Phil:The Orange figure to be an underdog in every Big East game again this year. They also have non-conf tests at Northwestern and home vs Penn St and may only be favored in 2 games this year. They have had just two 10-loss seasons in school history and both have come under Robinson so he gets my vote for the coach on the hottest seat this year. Quote
zen Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 Am I gonna rant about this because we were picked last, or is this a legitimate question? Why would a league encourage pre season rankings?I mean, you can't stop the rags and sites from doing it, but why go this far in your own domain?I can understand trying to add some interest by putting perspective on expectations for various teams, but is it a good idea to peg them this way?I mean, it's one thing to say that X is expected to have a great year and Y is probably reloading this year, but it's another to sponsor a pigeon-holing of your own teams. Is it a good idea? I'm indifferent to it really because it really doesn't matter much other than it shows which teams get respect (CMU) and which ones don't (EMU). Quote
ZachTheZip Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 Is there a way to see who gave us two first-place votes? Quote
