ziptrader
Just wanted to let any cigar aficionados know that my buddy who runs the hedge fund and one of his clients is opening a private cigar club in downtown Cuyahoga falls. The grand opening will be September 1st and they are putting some good money into the place. They are doing precommitment contracts in which you will get 10% off the yearly fee. If anyone wants free passes to the opening day party let me know. They are putting in plasmas, card tables, etc. will be fun. They are starting there and hoping to expand quickly and move to downtown Akron.
Blue & Gold
Sounds good. I take it Big Brother cannot keep people from smoking inside the new club since it will be a private establishment?
zen
LOL, I smoke backwoods cigars. I think the aficionados would look down their glass of brandy at me.
ziptrader
I asked them and as long as 90% of your revenue comes form cigar sales/accessories it is good to go. The cigar shop by my house (the village tobacconist @summit mall) allows you to smoke in their shop. There is not plasma TVs, big leather couches and stuff but its a decent place to smoke. I went to see the place yesterday and Anthony informed me that the place will open on August 30th now, the zips first game. It is against Wisconsin on Big Ten Network so they are having it on for the open. They are also going to have like 3 girls serving cigars and getting your drinks. It should be great. If anyone wants a invite to get in let me know and I will see what I can do. I think the grand opening is 25 to get in and that includes a cigar and food. The club is BYOA as this allows them to operate around the laws. They will have places to store it for you and will sell the wash for the drinks as well as cigars. KentZip
Ziptrader,Would be glad to take this offer over to the Akron Cigar Club website. Several hundred members who would be interested in the new club. It might be a good idea to have the owners register over at our site and make their pitch to the members. akroncigarclub.net
ziptrader
That sounds like a great idea. I have no say in what happens with this so I will tell anthony. I know they have been doing early member sign ups and they are already to half their goal. I already signed up for the year. They are also trying to get Rocky Patel, olivia, etc to do a tasting for the first day. I can not wait til it opens. I will mention to him that they should host a akron cigar club event. ziptrader
Kentzip,I had a meeting with Anthony today and it looks as though the client of his that had the building has a serious offer on the table for it and maybe sold. They are already looking for a new building but they are happy they did not start to sink some serious money into the place yet. They had just cleaned everything out and were about to start to tear down walls and so forth. Anyways, they are extending a handful of people a invitation to sign up to be able to use that place until it sells. They are only charging 30 dollars for the month. It will be very informal and will not have the luxuries that the original plans called for. They are only doing this to try and establish a relationship with those that are waiting for the new place. Email him and he can fill you in better. He is also changing my contract to start when the new place opens and he is also hooking me up with a free month for the wait.
