ZachTheZip Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 We all knew this was coming.http://www.ohio.com/news/top_stories/26325594.htmlI'm really hoping that we don't have to stare at the back of those ugly-ass bum hangouts when we open the stadium. A cool idea would be to build a two-story high privacy fence around the UA property, separating us from them. It sends a nice message of "you are no longer a part of this community". Quote
Blue & Gold Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 Those properties are going to block the construction of the new residence halls, correct? IMO the residence halls add a lot to the stadium's ambience in the architectural renderings. That jury really shot this community in the foot. 3 million dollars for slum lord urban blight? Quote

They would also block the view across Exchange towards the pawn shop, and across Spicer towards the frats and old houses. Quote
bigham78 Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 I really hoping they reduce this outlandish verdict. Judge Spicer only ruled the jury verdict was reasonable. IMO, he's left open the possiblilty of the verdict being overturned by not ruling something other then the jury verdict was reasonable. I felt his ruling was soft and implied he wasn't totally comfortable ruling that way. There no way that property is worth $85 a square foot just because UofA wants it. Quote
