ZachTheZip Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 A total of $2.1 million including legal fees. Not too bad considering the absurd amount the judge/jury tried to con us out of.A quick check on Google Earth reveals that this means that UA gets EVERYTHING according to the addresses in the link: Quote
g-mann17 Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 That looks good for all parties. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 I really like the last sentence of the article!:The stadium is on schedule for the Sept. 19, 2009, opening at InfoCision Stadium/Summa Field as the Zips take on the Indiana Hoosiers, marking a new era for Zips football on the attractive and growing campus of The University of Akron. ziptrumpet87 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 ... and for one-half interest in property at 437 E. Exchange St.Can someone with better legal experience explain to me what is the difference between "one-half interest" and "full interest"Isn't that the property that is co-owned with his cousin? The one that was awarded the outrageous amount for the parking lot? Quote

UofA still has to get Manny rat holes which are Manny's Pub 451 E Exchange, Aroma Coffee 445 E Exchange and Chopstix also 445 E Exchange (Those addresses are not included). Only a matter of time as I'm sure Manny now knows 2 mil for his crap is out of the question. Joe and Mona Nemer still only get 1.3 mil for their property. The other 800 k is attorney fees and litigation-related expenses. Quote

Joe and Manny jointly owned the parking lot and UofA now owns Joe half of the lot. Manny will settle. A good friend of mines and UofA grad was just there for Labor Day weekend and got back to town today. He said Manny's Pub was mostly closed over the Labor Weekend and when it was opened there was all of three people in there including the bartender (Not Manny). Aroma coffee still getting just a couple of Akron Cops and assorted drunks and derelicts. Quote

The other 800 k is attorney fees and litigation-related expenses. The article mentioned the following addresses: 457 and 459 Exchange - the houses labeled "houses"437 Exchange - The empty lot just west of Aroma/Chopstix354 Spicer - The building behind the Sun Grill461 Exchange - This is the address for the Sun Grill building.I guess you're right. It comes down to Manny and his three hovels. There's no way his property is worth the same as all the ones that were just settled, an area twice the size of his own. Here's a corrected map:UA owns everything except the rectangle where Manny's and Aroma/Chopstix reside. zen Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 UA owns everything except the rectangle where Manny's and Aroma/Chopstix reside.Ah well, now that we got that corner, they have more than enough room to build the east-side dorm project as well as that access ramp for the stadium. Quote
