I can live with this schedule.I am already looking forward to the Dayton and Winthrop games at home and, of course, the game at Pittsburgh could be a good test for our young troops.Can somebody explain to me how the Legends Classic works? I thought it was an exempt tourney, but if that was the case we wouldn't know the opponents beyond the opener. I personally like the fact that the non-D1 game is against Urbana as it was one of my finalists on where to attend after high school before I chose Akron.

Could be better, could be worse. I like the Pitt game being on the schedule in that it will at least shut a few mouths around the MAC. I don't know if this years team is quite ready for that though. Plus the Legends Classic seems somewhat akin to prostitution on our part. The only way that deal works out for us is if we can somehow knock off Pitt. Love games against teams like Dayton, Winthrop, VCU and Rhode Island. All upper crust mid-major programs that we don't have to travel excessivly far (Gonzaga, Nevada, etc.) to get to. We need more of that.That Can't, YSU, Toledo 3 games in 5 days stretch is going to be a little rough. At least we open w/ what should be the toughest opponent in Can't (presuming their entire team isn't in jail by then).

Remember ... even if we were to defeat PITT the Zips still go play FDU and EKU. They do not earn a trip to the Palisades. That is predetermined by the operators of the tournament.Giving PITT a black eye is the best we can hope for.Keep in mind the objectives of this coming season. First, develop the chemistry of the players. Second,improve each player's skills. Third, learn to play as a team. Finally, be in a position to win the MACtournament. Anything short of a post season bid (NCAA, NIT, CBI) marks the season as under achieving.Wait until you see the results of a year's conditioning. The players are "buff". Mike Bardo and SteveSwiech both lost any semblance of baby fat. They look great.This is the best overall talent ever to wear Zips uniforms. You will enjoy this coming season as thesekids develop and blossom. When Zeke suits up he will find a lot of talent surrounding him. Walla ...!!!!Go Zeke ...!!!! Go Trevor ...!!!! Go Zips ...!!!!

Akron, no cupcake on Pitt's schedule

Hey Zips fans! VCU fan here. It's getting around that time for basketball talk and I can't wait for the season to get started. I noticed that we share some common opponents in Rhode Island and Western Michigan this season. As Western Michigan is in the MAC, I was wondering if you might be able to give me some information on their team and the prospects for the season as I can't seem to find a message board with actual basketball fans. Would love to get a mini-scouting report if possible. We're also really looking forward to having the Zips come down to Richmond, VA for the return bracketbuster this season. Although I understand it looks to be somewhat of a rebuilding season for you guys, I see you have some great young talent coming as well as a 4-star in Zeke Marshall. That's a great thing for mid-major basketball as a whole. Unfortunately our game has been scheduled after fall semester exams, so I'm not sure that it will be quite as packed as it usually is during the season. But hopefully you'll be able to enjoy Richmond and the game atmosphere that most fans of other schools will acknowledge is the best in the CAA. Coach Dambrot is running a quality program up there and we look forward to meeting with you guys and hopefully beating you a second time. Good luck with the season and beat Can't State! They actually have a walk-on from Richmond named Tyree Evans who had all sorts of sketchy things going on, VCU didn't dare touch him. For that reason alone I will root against them which makes me an unofficial Zip fan as long as you're not playing VCU or another CAA team.

Hey baller, good to hear from you again. We're a young team this year but we are no-excuse team and with the talent level on the roster and the wisdom of our coaching staff, i am hopeful that we will still be competitive and give you all you can handle in Richmond. 4* Zeke Marshall is a 09-10 recruit so you guys won't see him this year. How about another Akron VCU series. I would like to see that.And yeah about Can't state, Tyree evans will fit right in there. Being troubled is becoming a "must" to make their team.
