This "new low" buzzword is taking over the entire Fingers Lakes region. If you do a Google Search with +Akron +Syracuse +"new low" you will get an estimated FOUR THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY HITS!!! I sure hope the Zips' performances the rest of the year make all of these jokers eat their words Quote
zen Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 HEHThat's just like the SU announcers on the TimeWarner FoxSports channel who kept repeating "This will be Akron's second win against a BCS conference school"......... as if beating Syracuse is like upseting NCState......... as if no one would realize that they are implying that if you are in a "BCS conference" you are somehow on par with being a ranked BCS perennial or something.Don't get me wrong, I love how we didn't just decide to match their offensive output, we tried (and succeeded) in putting them away to make up for some defensive problems, but still, did anyone have them being a ranked contender this year? Until we start winning on a consitent basis and put butts in the seats we will continue to be looked at as small time. I doubt they were saying this about Miami or Marshall in their glory days. I'm sorry, but when you lose to Buffalo and Temple the season prior you going to get your share of doubters. Obviously, we did a good job of taking care of business at Syracuse but the season is still young. Quote
