zipboy
For what it is worth, latest Sagarin ratings has us 77th and 4th in the MAC. Both Army and Syracuse gave good showings yesterday. 31 Ball State A = 79.89 5 0 62.34( 123) 0 0 | 0 0 | 79.79 28 | 79.04 33 52 Bowling Green A = 74.61 2 2 75.13( 12) 0 1 | 0 1 | 74.63 50 | 73.64 53 73 Western Michigan A = 69.04 4 1 61.05( 130) 0 0 | 0 0 | 69.09 79 | 68.03 73 77 Akron A = 67.85 2 3 68.98( 53) 0 0 | 0 1 | 65.42 90 | 69.45 70 79 Central Michigan A = 67.44 3 2 67.28( 76) 0 1 | 0 1 | 68.38 83 | 65.60 87 81 Northern Illinois A = 66.53 2 2 57.63( 149) 0 0 | 0 0 | 59.97 121 | 73.34 58 93 Buffalo A = 65.08 2 3 68.47( 62) 0 0 | 0 1 | 62.34 112 | 66.98 78 114 Miami-Ohio A = 61.19 1 3 71.16( 30) 0 0 | 0 1 | 63.71 102 | 57.80 125 117 Temple A = 60.48 1 4 70.29( 36) 0 1 | 0 2 | 55.79 142 | 64.34 93 118 Toledo A = 60.44 1 3 66.67( 84) 0 0 | 0 0 | 56.10 138 | 63.92 96 131 Ohio University A = 58.53 1 4 67.27( 77) 0 0 | 0 2 | 53.45 149 | 62.67 101 145 Can't State A = 55.06 1 4 65.52( 97) 0 0 | 0 0 | 52.29 153 | 56.81 131 171 Eastern Michigan
ZachTheZip
According to those ratings, we should win every game left except for Bowling Green. I can live with that.
UAZipster0305
I think those are fair. I see us about even with CMU and UB. Temple is right there in the second tier as well. Toledo, Ohio, Can't, and EMU are must wins for a respectable season though.
skip-zip
Well, considering that many people expected us to be the worst team in the MAC, this is pretty encouraging.
bUAkronG
I see Ball State as 31 on there. They also received a few votes. I'd be surprised if they did not go unbeaten this season and end up in the top 25. It's theirs to lose, their difficult games are out of the way(except for a clash with WMU and CMU later on in the year). I am actually rooting for them to do well. I know after they showed Indiana up there was actually talk of a BCS bid. Since the Zips have already lost to them I feel comfortable saying "Go Cards!" GoZips
Here's a blog that seems to fairly accurate on rating college football teams.DPD Dog'sBe sure to select FCS Rankings. The Zips project as eleven point favorites over the Hippies. skip-zip
GoZips...I'd love to see Vegas list us at 11 point favorites, on the road, in a rivalry game, within your own conference. Honestly, that wold be a surprising spread. I don't know if those numbers have come out yet, but that would certainly lead us to believe that our performances at Syracuse, at Army, and at home against Cincinnati have not gone unnoticed. If Ball State does go unbeaten, and can get a BCS bid (long shot) that would be HUGE for our conference. Especially with 3 or 4 other teams getting bowl bids as well. This could really be the year that the MAC takes a big step forward.
skip-zip
In fact, I just looked it up.....it looks like we are going to open as a 3 point favorite.
johnnyzip84
A projected line based on a comparison of computer rankings (such as Sagarin's) rarely reflects the Vegas line. I personally give a lot of credence to rankings like Sagarin's, because there is no "human" bias involved with them.
johnnyzip84
The services that USA Today reports currently have the Zips as 3.5 to 4 point favorites.USA Today Odds
Lee Adams
sagarin is good...more accurately reflects strength of schedule...if the Zips were completely healthy going down the stretch, which they are not, they would have a decent shot at at least 6-6(thats winning 4 out of 7 with 4 on the road) BUT, they are not healthy and once the ground game has to rely on kennedy as the #1 back for an extended period...nope...that means Jacquemain has to step up(?) and the D has to win a couple of games...its a damn shame that AA and Johnson got shelved...THAT was a running game never seen here...now can't is a MUST win...stop edelman on the ground, create turnovers....
