Buffalo or OU tonite??

Interesting question...A win/loss to either team doesn't help us any. A loss for buffalo puts that at 1-3 in conference, whereas a loss for Ohio puts them at 1-4... conversely, a win for the canadians puts them at 2-2 and a win for ohio puts them at 2-3.Based on that, I think it's best to root for the kitties in this case. Buffalo winning ties them with us for first place in the MAC East, something we don't want. A win for Ohio puts them, if I am doing this right, 1/2 game behind us and keeps us in first place. Now, we do have both these teams on our remaining schedule, however, I think it'd be best if we were ahead of either team in the standings before playing them. I guess I am rooting for the kitties of OU then...

I want the Cleveland Cavs to win tonight. I don't care about either Buffalo or Ohio.
I'm kind of there with you skhorbotly. Oh I'll turn to the OU-UB game at times (mainly to see how they look in terms of stacking up against us) and I understand the logic behind rooting for OU, but it's getting to the point for me where I'm getting a little tired of hoping for "all the cards to fall in place" for us to win a MAC East crown. I say, forget the rest of the East (the crown is IN THE ZIPS OWN HANDS after all) and let's just roll the next four games and be done with all the "what ifs"! :thumb: Go you mighty Zippers!!!

The Zips are in charge of their own destiny. I'd prefer they win out and not have to depend on a tie-breaker. Everything just happened to go our way when we went to the MAC Championship back in 2005. I did read in the Plain Dealer that we need Buffalo to lose either tonight or next week for us to have a hold on first place. I guess they're our closest competition for first in the east. I will be watching the game tonight to see what both Buffalo and Ohio are like. I hope the Zips take care of their own business and not have to depend on someone else winning ot losing.

Ahhh...you know how the MAC can be. I'd like to hope that we win out too, so that none of this matters. But, don't be fools and not be at least HOPEFUL that the teams the closest to us in the standings lose. I don't think that too many sports teams have won titles without a little help from their friends :D This is playing out well for us.....our key game against Buffalo will be on "Farewell Rubber Bowl" night.

That may not be as much of a "key" game if we lose to Toledo Nov. 5th. I believe it's safe to say that every game in the MAC East is a "key" game from here on out.
