How many of you are/were Engineering majors?

Recommended Posts

I've noticed a handful of zipsnation posters say that they were engineering majors at UA  . Being a ChemE major myself I was wondering; how many of you are Engineering students/graduates from the University? Just list the specific field of engineering and what year you graduated/plan to graduate.

I'm a sparky from the 80's; however, my business experience is mostly on the mechanical side. I started in field service then moved to sales. I have been selling boiler equipment for the last 20 years. I used to work for B&W in Barberton. I am now a salesman for Alstom who is B&W's primary competitor. I live in Albuquerque and my territory is NM, AZ, NV, and UT. Are any of you guys current or ex B&W? If you worked for them between 1988 and 1995, I might know you.

BS Chemical Engineering '03MS Biomedical Engineering '05 both from UAPhD Biomedical Engineering '10 from Carnegie MellonI did all my PhD coursework at Pitt and can say that UA's engineering is far better in preparing quality engineers although Pitt supposedly has a top 15 program (not in my opinion).
really? Interesting. What is it that you would say makes UA's dept. better?(I always thought those rankings were BS anyways)

UA actually cares about its students. Pitt does not care about its students, but rather research dollars and posturing in the rankings. What a joke. As UA increases its research profile, I hope it maintains the student emphasis. I would be ashamed if it ever became like Pitt.

I'm just curious; why is your PhD degree from Carnegie Mellon if you did all your work at Pitt?

I've retaken every calc class once. It's not so much the difficulty, it's just that I can't seem to dedicate myself the first time I take them. I always skip out on class.I get at least a B every time I retake them though.

I'm devoting an entire semester to taking only Calc 2. If that doesn't get me a passing grade, nothing will.
