ZachTheZip Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 They play tonight at the JAR at 7:00This is where I make my judgment on the season. This team has shows signs of improvement, despite losing more players than they kept over the past three years. I want to see them show the ability to get pumped for a big game, and pull out a win where they are heavy underdogs at home.Do that, and I'll declare this season a success, regardless of how the rest of the season plays out. ZippyRulz Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Well done, Lady Zips ! 19 points for Amber Witt, 4 Zips in double figures and we outrebounded 'em 42-27. Let's hope the mens team was taking notes... Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 What a great game! Exciting too. Also, it was nice to see Veal play with some heart and make some big baskets. Overall just a good team effort, grabbing big boards and hitting plenty of big jumpers. Quote
GP1 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 I am both pleased and shocked every time I see a win. Here is my question. If the lady Zips finish somewhere around .500, has any coach in the history of the Athletic Department done a better job turning the corner (not around) a program at UofA?I think Coach Kest has made some very hard decisions over the past couple of years and they all seem to be paying off. Changing a culture of losing is the most difficult thing to do and she seems to be changing that culture little by little. It just goes to show that "players coaches" result in losing. The winners are the biggest pricks on the block. Quote
Valpo Zip Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 I am very pleasantly surprised... still careful to jump on the wagon, i can't afford another broken heart. Quote
