FearTheRoo
Nice class Can't. Throwing a punch in the first 2 minutes. Good ejection from the officials. What is worse: Can't State or their black uniforms??
akronad
Singletary, what a hack. He deserved to get tossed.
Quickzips
Singletary, once a punk, always a punk. The league needs to suspend him from at least the first round of the tourney for that shit. No place for that.
w00t
Isn't there a mandatory penalty imposed by the NCAA for throwing a punch?
akronad
It looks as if the 2-3 is giving as fits again.NCAA penalties are for fighting, not for flagrant fouls.

Ergo, NCAA will not intercede.

Had one started and additional punches were thrown, then suspensions should be in order.Right now, we should be concerned that we still have never developed an inside scoring game. I love this team....and hate them too! Heart attack every time I watch!!!
zip81
So what do you think?I think Akron needs to stick to the plan. They look a little sloppy on offense, but are making up for it forcing Can't turnovers at the other end.Singletary being out is major for Can't.Gotta watch the fouls. Quickzips
Not a bad first half for the Zips. Fell apart a bit before the half, but the McKnights weren't on the floor for a good deal of the last 4+ minutes with 2 fouls and we still kept the lead. The Singletary ejection obviously hurts Can't. Sad as it is to say, that thug is their glue. Not to mention the fact that it screws with their rotation. It's going to be even bigger down the stretch for them as guys play more minutes than they are used to and they don't have him to take the pressure off. Zips have to get the McKnights back in the game and work the ball down low. Keep pushing the tempo on offense too. We are so much better off when we are pushing the ball up the floor and getting early offense.
Quickzips
From Rasors blog:This just in from Rick Boyages at the MAC: Singletary is ineligible for the MAC Tournament because of his sucker punch. Serves him right. To quote Joe Dunn, "If he did that on the street, he would have been arrested."
akronad
That's good. Now, let's just finish this game off with a victory.
zip81
Can't was shooting 3's like there was only five seconds left.
FearTheRoo
A suspension for the tourney is a bit excessive. We better learn to at least try to work the ball into the paint if we want to do well in Cleveland. Not too excited that we are this close with Singletary out. zip81
As usual, we better learn how to shoot foul shots.Once automatic, this has become a lost art in college basketball.
Quickzips
Well, now we need some help from OU.
FearTheRoo
Are these the best in-bound plays we can draw up on a time out?? Why are we SO sloppy with the basketball?I love Dambrot, but I just don't understand this type of play.
Buckzip
Same old Zips. Can't hold a lead at the end....
MDZip
Bowling Green is up on Ohio by 18 early. If that holds up we need Miami to win to get a bye. That would give us the four seed, but not sure if Can't or Buffalo would get the five. Miami would get the one by beating BGSU twice. w00t
Miami by 13 at half. If that holds and BGSU doesn't cough up their 22-point lead against Ohio, it means we get the four and Buffalo gets the five, right?
