Dave in Green Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 This article pretty much reinforces everything we already know about Zeke. I can't imagine a better match between Zeke's personal playing philosophy and KD's coaching philosophy. He is going to fit in so well with the Zips, and they are going to be one heck of a cohesive team. But it still boggles the mind to think that someone his age has so much athletic ability, intelligence and maturity all rolled up into a 7-foot frame, and is bringing it all to Akron, Ohio.I think over the course of the next few years, we're going to be seeing more and more national stories like this one. Zeke just seems like he came right out of central casting for the old All American story about the son that any parents would be proud to call their own. Quote
w00t Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Every time I read something about Zeke I can't help but think that as great as it is for UA that we landed such a high profile recruit, it's even better that he has a good head on his shoulders. I'd rather lose every game against Can't with a group of players that are decent human beings than beat them every time and have to cheer for guys like Evans, Quaintance, Singletary, and Thomas. With a guy like Zeke, it sure seems like we'll get the best of both worlds. Quote

skip-zip Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Hang on there WooT....first and foremost, we want to win. And when you do it with quality people, its a bonus. But, don't lose sight of the goal here. I wouldn't be at all satisfied if we were recording losses to Can't, but had "good kids". Quote
w00t Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 I wouldn't be at all satisfied if we were recording losses to Can't, but had "good kids".Neither would I... but I wouldn't be satisfied if we were posting wins against them by putting the type of players on the floor who randomly punch people in the stomach either. Thankfully "winning" and "having a team you can be proud of" are not mutually exclusive. Quote

FromdaBurgh Posted March 13, 2009 Author Report Posted March 13, 2009 CHGR54-- YOU HAVE RAISED A QUALITY YOUNG MAN: AND YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF THE [THAT KIND OF PRIDE IS ALLOWED IN THE SCRIPTURES].HOPWOODABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her..." Proverbs 31:28. I really am a blessed woman and very greatful for all of my children. They are an extension of who I am and Zeke speaks volumes on my behalf. I cannot and will never complain about that!! Quote
