zip37
The MAC has done away with Media Guides, pre season lunchs etc.. The MAC's throwing in the towel in regards the previous proves to me that they are preparing to surrender re competing with the big dogs, because the big dogs are not doing likewise and, by default, the MAC is giving up competing with the BCS conferences.Anybody else see it that way? ZachTheZip
Media guides just aren't being printed out anymore. They're electronic now, which is a step forward that also saves money because you don't have to print them. Paper media guides are archaic and excessive in an age where every media member worth his salt is carrying around a laptop.
Big Zip
Um...Ohio State and Michigan announced in May they were not printing Media Guides too. How come you didn't post this in May telling us how they were preparing to compete with the "little dogs"?
ZachTheZip
Every conference is cutting back on things except the SEC with their billion dollar TV contract. In tough economic times it is better to find more sources of income than to simply stop spending as much, because once the economy improves those new revenue streams will put you at a higher level, while spending cuts won't. Deeustin89
The Zips were never really going to compete with the big boys anyways so i wouldn't lose any sleep over this if i were you.
Quickzips
The Zips were never really going to compete with the big boys anyways so i wouldn't lose any sleep over this if i were you.I hate to be a jerk, but screw off. The Zips have just as much chance to compete in the big dance as Davidson, George Mason, Gonzaga, Can't State, Xavier or any number of teams that have made big runs in the dance. This kind of defeatist attitude isn't needed around Zipsnation.

Use lower end luxury cars as recruiting incentives.Work out better take as you need deals with local clothiers. Change out tutors for just straight copies of the tests. That's all big money things right there.

Maybe they won't constantly beat the big dogs, but I feel they certainly can compete with them and get some wins if given the opportunity. skip-zip
I think in any case, we should never do "less" than what the big boys are doing. If they don't print media guides anymore, fine. But if they were still printing media guides, we HAVE to print one. And if they are still having pre-season luncheons, we HAVE to do the same.If we were to stop doing the things they do, it gives people another reason to look at us as "small time". We're a D-1A school, just like the rest of them, and we need to take advantage of every opportunity we have to continue to act like one. Dr Z
I hear a lot of teams are going to use the same uniform as last year.
