xu9697 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 I know some are very critical of Jacq, but I truly believe it is all going to work out for a great season for him this year. 25+ TDs, over 3,000 yards, cutting interceptions and fumbles down. I think the combination of his senior season, flushes of greatness last year (esp. Syracuse game), Harris/Montgomery influence, etc. will propel him to one of the best seasons ever for an Akron QB.Perhaps I have the "misfortune" of seeing only some of his better games last year= Syracuse, Cincinnati, Can't State (rough at times I know) and Wisky (many good moments). But I really think he will push us to those 8-9 wins and clearly become the 3rd best QB in the MAC this year (behind LeFevour and Hiller).Go Zips and Go Jacq! Quote
GP1 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 I love senior QBs that have played in the same system their entire career. I like our chances with Jacq this year in terms of putting up numbers and cutting down on mistakes in general.Everything about this team will fall back on how key players play in key situations in big games. The QB is the most important player on the field. At key moments in key games, Jacq must play well this year. This kid has all they physical talent in the world. A lot of guys do. He needs to carry the team this year. That's what senior QBs are supposed to do. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Everything is lined up for Jacq to do extremely well this year. A group of senior WRs, a veteran line, a great coaching staff, and a talented running game are all there to help him. However, it's still on him to improve his performance in critical situations. No more INTs leading to the other team rallying from behind to win. No more botched handoffs in overtime. None of that stuff. The fact that it's all coming together also means that he'll be on a shorter leash. If he can't play like he is supposed to with all of this, he'll lose the job. Quote
psc2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 He's definitely one of the top two QBs in the East. Him and Tyler Sheehan might be as good as the two Michigan QBs. Quote
tim123 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Don't count out the other QB's, JD is on a short leash and at the end of the day he will play the best guy, after all it's his job on the line. At this level you must play the best guy. I hope Jacq has a great year and takes us to the promised land. Go Zips!! Quote
