Hugo42 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Momma always told me to be more specific when I talk or tell someone directions. Go to its over its our great broadcast guy . The Last one on the page. The one to the left of. Let me handle the team. The one below Wizard of Returns. The one that has a four secound duration. WOW click on it and it states The commentators celebrate after Henry Jones returns a punt to win the game against Western Michigan. Quote
MDZip Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 That was an all-time Zips classic game. You can still find highlights of it on YouTube too. Andre Jones was the one who returned it (after Alphonso Owen tossed him a lateral). Quote

MDZip Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 And at least our announcers sounded enthusiastic and educated. The clip where Appalachian St. beat Michigan is also on the site http://www.entertonement.com/clips/mzhvstk...ate-University-where the announcer delivered the classic "The Mountaineers have done beat the Michigan Wolverines". Ah, if only it was the West Virginia Mountaineers. Quote
scottditzen Posted July 28, 2009 Author Report Posted July 28, 2009 I'll never forget this call. I'd spent the weekend in Niagara Falls, CA, and had no idea what happened with the Zips game. So I'm waiting on that bridge to get back into the USA. So I turn on the radio in hopes of getting the college scores and ESPN announces "and here's the best call ever in the history of sports" and it's STEVE FRENCH courtesy of the Akron ISP network!!!! Then another ESPN guy makes a hillarious, deadpan comment about how he was amazed that French was able to make the call in such a "neutral and composed manner." So great!!! Quote
