g-mann17
According to Rasor. But the question remains...Who are the candidates?75 people showed to interest to the consulting group. Well there are 120 FCS schools. Only 68 are BCS programs. How many candidates are from those schools?
ZachTheZip
I have to think that a group of finalists should be named soon, possibly next week.Maybe it will be Jim Tressel, and then he can write more stuff in books about akron. Z.I.P.
I have to think that a group of finalists should be named soon, possibly next week.Maybe it will be Jim Tressel, and then he can write more stuff in books about akron. I guess I missed that. What did he write about Akron? I remember him on the WZIP pre-game show where he did a weekly prediction of I-AA games, and couldn't pronounce "Weber State", instead asking I think if it was named after the backyard grill.(edit) Sorry -- I just saw the thread about the book and JT's contribution. Does he mention his "Weber Grill" comment?
ZachTheZip
Are there any inklings as to who the candidates might be? There could be over a hundred between the search firm and the people who directly contacted the school.
ZachTheZip
2 weeks to go and nothing. Not a single known candidate besides Hunter.
goodthts
Here's my solution:Let's take a page from Iran and several African countries and just declare ZIPS NATION the new AD under divine guidance and popular opinion. We can run the Univ of Akron by committee and by OUR wants and needs.Tailgate where ever you wantRoo Brew in drinking fountainsTake a cheerleader home for a day program1Think of the possibilities....... ZachTheZip
They're going to name the AD this week.I'm dissapointed by the lack of a finalist list.
Blue & Gold
I can't believe they've been able to keep it this hush-hush. This is unprecedented in the history of committees! Except, of course, for the Roswell alien crash-landing, the lunar landing hoax and the JFK assassination. Lol.Actually, I'm surprised they feel the need to keep it so hush-hush. Good grief. We knew when Mack was being interviewed for two different jobs.

God help us if we run the Athletc dept. We'll run up $200 million in debt building new sports facilities for every sport, we'll be giving coaches $2 million dollar contracts one week and firing them the next! You know, I doubt we'll even get that far. All my decision by comitte experience has shown me that it takes rediculously long to get anything done and when it does get done, nobody is happy with the watered down result.
