Just got back from a tour-- folks IT IS ABSOLUTRLY BEAUTIFUL, far moreso than I had in what's left of my mind. Walking in the north end Summa Field is probably 60+ feet below that level [brown Street level] and is altenating shades of green . To the west, the Press Box/ Loges is/are several stories higher. The view of the field is great from the Brown St level and must be spectacular from the top of the pressbox, not a bad seat in the house,Since I never expect to be there I did not visit the Loges but if they are anything like the rest of ths Stadium they too are probably breathtaking. The 'scoreboard' [it is so much miore than that] was on and even with the bright sunlight, it was extremely readable. For those of you that have been to UC and seen Nippert Stadium, the view from the Brown Street level is about the mid-level view from Nippert. The concourses for refreshments were wide and well lighted. although not many lights were on so sunlight filter in someow [wide access openings].I think the University has a $60 million JEWEL on it's hand: I cannt believe that it cost only $60 million.InfoSumma is going to drive the opponents crazy with envy. Now if we only had a team of the same quality to play in it, but that's another story.Summary: BREATHTAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I take it this was your first time seeing it in person?I hope that when we have HS games and other events that draw non-Zips fans it generates half the excitement that you're showing here.

Does anyone else feel that the Info will help us even when we play on the road? What I mean is that by the team practicing in their new modern "House" that it will maybe stick in the back of their minds when they're away and give them a morale boost and more of a feeling that they belong with "the Bigs"? I just think it has to really help the psyche of the players as well as the coaches...a huge "intangible". If only the PSU game would come down to emotion and intangibles...Go Zips!

That's an interesting thought. I'd think it may give them a psychological edge whenever we are visiting any MAC school. Our players are going to walk into the other MAC stadiums thinking, "Wow, this place sucks! We are so much more big time than these losers!"

That would be the same psychological advantage they've had over us for years.

Before: Yeah, we're the scrappy, rag-tag Zips from the venerable (although decaying) Rubber Bowl out by the blimp hanger where 8-12K fans come to watch us, depending on the weather. After: That's right, we're the big bad Akron Zips from beautiful sold-out Infocision Stadium Summa Field on the ever-cooler campus of the University of Akron !

Well, I guess the 'Spirit of Info' didn't do much for us today but used to be we might have given up 60+ to a top 10 team. It would have been nice to come off a better performance to open the stadium but it will still be an awesome day on campus next Saturday. I guess we ran the same plays a lot so we wouldn't be showing our playbook to Morgan St.
