We're number 13 and Ohio is number 4.
Just another example of recruiting services valuing quantity over quality. Not saying the bobkittens didn't bring in some nice talent, but there isn't a recruit in the MAC who even comes close to holding Zeke's jockstrap when it comes to national rankings. If we had signed Zeke and a few more decent mid-major prospects we would probably be top 5 on that list. Because it's just Zeke, we're lower down.

The "article" is written by a senior in high school who obviously just looked at ESPN's ratings. Nothing to get worked up about, anyone can write for that site.

Because another MAC school is ranked ahead of you, it has to be wrong? Each of Ohio's recruits were very well rated. Together they made for a stronger overall recruiting class, in the writer's opinion. Quit being so whiny.

And another writer said that Miami had the strongest recruiting class in the MAC. I'm not sure how to fairly and accurately compare quantity versus quality, and I doubt that any of the prognosticators have an ironclad formula, either. In any case, each team will be the sum of what they lost, what they gained and how the veteran and rookie players execute together.

LOL..I just said the author/website was less than credible, that's not being whiny. I really could care less.

Well, obviously you are out of the loop, we are all well aware of how Akron has, and will continue to dominate OU in BB. Isn't that kind of OU's thing, Basketball? Well, at least it was a long time ago right? Now you are kind of middle of the pack. I see you are using some of that excellent hillbilly OU math logic "my two pennies are more than that silly little dime you got there". Now.... What did I do with that....oh, here it is::champs:

The problem with the rankings is that they absolutely do take into account quantity more than quality. You can ask any remotely knowledgable MAC hoops fan who the best recruit coming into the MAC this year is and not one of them will hesitate. It is Zeke hands down. OU and Miami have both brought in quality recruits as well, but nothing at the level of a Zeke. The fact is we got more bang for our buck than anyone in the MAC this year, but because we only had one scholarship to give we are getting rated below other schools that still brought in good players but noone near the caliber of our guy. Its a messed up system.

Honestly, I think the article was fairly accurate. Did we have the best recruiting class? No, but we have one hell of a recruit. Does it really matter where our class is ranked? No.What matters is we still have the best TEAM in the MAC.

The antidote to cure any bad feelings created by any opinion piece we don't agree with is to simply search the many other opinion pieces out there until we find one we like.Bleacher Report , for example, ranks UA's 2009 recruiting class (Zeke) as 11th overall among mid-majors, and ahead of Ohio, Miami and all other MAC teams.
