MDZip
I actually feel little bad for him (and them) but we had the same issues last year. You have to have enough depth to make up for injuries that you know will occur. You just hate to see it with your top line players. That made me think is there any player that we could lose this year and really be a devastating loss? We seem to have a lot of depth. He is already a 5th year senior, so his eligibility is gone. His NFL stock is likely to take a hit as well. Hopefully the surgery and rehab will be successful and he'll make it there anyway. And before we totally dismiss UB, they have some pretty good depth at RB. Sure it makes it harder for the new QB Maynard to break in, but most had figured it would be his (Maynard's) play anyway that best determines the Bulls fate this year. ZachTheZip
This is why you never want to be picked by the media to win your division in the MAC. It's a jinx that has been working for almost a decade now.
Kangaroo Craig
They're toast! He and Drew Willy were the main cogs in their machine last year and now both are gone. They'll be lucky to finish with a .500 record.
Z.I.P.
The folks at UBuff sound like they've never heard of petitioning the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility. In fact, most cases of injuries like Starks' are given the extra year. The exception would be if he had lost a year to injury already, rather than just a redshirt freshman (academic) year. ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net
While I certainly feel badly for him as a human being, when I come to ZN it's as a fan of Zips college sports. In that context, he and Willy killed us last year and I LOVE IT that they're not a factor this year. And in fact, thinking about that human being thing, if he never steps on the field again, he has been a football star into adulthood, had a wonderful opportunity for a college education at an excellent university, free of charge, and beyond that shoulder is presumably healthy. All in all, I've heard harder-luck stories. He'll be OK. When I log in here, it's all about Good flowing our way and bad flowing everyone elses.
