GP1
This link has Akron playing Can't at 10:00 AM on Thanksgiving day. Is this true? http://www.miamihawktalk.com/discussion/vi...pic.php?t=22523
KingZip
Looks like it - see the MAC Conference web page. This is a smart move by the Akron powers that be. There will be 25K+ at the rubber Bowl for the game now.

Zip N' Dots
Officially the announcement was made about Turkey day football coming back to Akron yesterday afternoon when the MAC brain trust posted it on the website. This is great news and a very exciting time! See you at the Tailgate!!
Kangaroo Craig
This makes so much more sense. Had they left the game on Wednesday, no one would have showed up due to work and school commitments. The university keeps saying that they want more student envolvement at the football games, but then they schedule games during classes. I agree with the 25K plus figure. I see that as a real possibility now. What's our other option, stay home and watch the Detroit Lions? Yawn.
GP1
I'm pretty excited about the game being played on Thanksgiving. First of all, my wife and I are not from NE Ohio and we always wanted to stay home on a holiday and we never have been able to do so. Finally, a holiday that doesn't involve driving a minimum four hours. Secondly, I've always wanted to go to a game on Thanksgiving. I think this could be the beginning of a great tradition. They should play the Akron vs. Can't game, when played in Akron, on Thanksgiving every year. Play early in the season when playing in Can't. Notre Dame and USC do a similar scheduling twist with their games. I think it would work out real well.
Wally B
GREAT! Now what am I going to do at 1:00 on Wednesday
zipboy
I agree, a very good change. The whole week has the potential to be a bonanza for the league with 4 good rivalries lined up each day. I hope the city gets behind this game. And hopefully it is the last one in the Rubber Bowl to make it even more special.
