Blue & Gold
St. V/M has 3 players I know to watch. I believe they're all juniors? One is named Doran Grant. He's a DB/RB and has been offered by Columbus State. Hopefully he'll stay home & represent for UA! Another is named Murphy. His father is Mark Murphy - Mark graduated from GlenOak & played in the NFL for the Packers & I believe is now on St.V/M's staff. And I also hear that St.V's QB is the real deal. Junior. 6'4". Accurate passer. A future D-1 recruit.I'm planning on going to the game if only to bask in the glory of the Info!Go Akron!

ZachTheZip
They had an attendance of 10,235. Not bad, but not as much as I thought it would draw. At least 500 of them wandered into the UA-IU soccer game in the second half.
tbozeglav
The tv crew stopped over at the soccer match and did a little segment on the game. Wonder if anyone saw it?

Z.I.P.
The tv crew stopped over at the soccer match and did a little segment on the game. Wonder if anyone saw it?the guy had an espnu mic. maybe it's something they are doing for today's game? That's my guess.Sorry, I missed this last week. Indeed, this was just one of the schticks that the ESPNU broadcast team did in pumping up Akron and the new stadium. The guy tried to show how soccer savvy he was by heading the ball. Then the scoreboard break-in guy (whataya call him anyway?) criticized him for using the 'top' of his head, rather than the forehead. All-in-all, ESPNU's team did a fantastic job of promoting Akron, and complimenting the staff on how they were treated during the trip. I suspect they were as disappointed as us at the team falling flat on its face. It should have been a close and exciting game -- and I don't mean just he first half, folks.
