Zipsrifle Posted September 30, 2009 Author Report Posted September 30, 2009 Watching the video through ZipsZone. It isn't that good, but I guess we at least have video. Does anyone know if they switch ends after the half?? Quote
Zipsrifle Posted September 30, 2009 Author Report Posted September 30, 2009 You would think they would have the camera on the Zips end of the field as we keep the ball about 90% of the time. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted September 30, 2009 Author Report Posted September 30, 2009 Penalty Kick for the Zips! Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL! Zips score on a penalty kick!! Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Yes!!! Can't seem to find a gametracker for this one. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 I haven't watched a soccer match since college, but it really is amazing how much we control the ball on our end of the field. Just had a shot on goal that the OSU keeper had to save.... Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 Close call. Buckeyes have had a few shots on goal....OH, FIGHT! Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 Anyway, close call, Buckeyes had a few shots on goal, but the Zips cleared them.Anyway, for the fight, the ball was rolling down the south end of the field to the East. The OSU guy was jogging after it and the Akron guy came charging up from behind and they collided when both reached the ball. Then there was a bunch of shoving but apparently no fouls. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 Field looks to be in rough shape.... lots of what appear to be ruts. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 Interesting difference in strategy. When the goalkeepers get teh ball, OSU likes to kick it all the way down the field. About 60% of the time UA will get the ball on this. Akron likes to roll the ball to a UA player deep in their own end and work the ball upfield, which they are very successful with. Quote

Often teams that are inferior from a skill standpoint opt for the "long ball". Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 End of first half, Akron 1, Columbus State 0 Quote

johnnyzip84 Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 End of first half, Akron 1, Columbus State 0Excellent! Keep it up Zips!!You know, this is crazy but I've been following the CBS college sports scoreboard, and they have practically EVERY D-1 game on there except the game involving the NUMBER ONE TEAM IN THE NATION!!!! I'm not sure what gives here. Usually I can count on CBS college sports, whether the gametracker scoreboard or the ticker on the TV station (which is generally MUCH better than the ESPNU ticker for college soccer). Quote
bigzipguy Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Score!!!!!!!!!!!! Frenchie is loving it!!!!!!2-0 Zips!!! Quote
