tim123 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Well now that the smoke has begun to settle has anyone heard how the teams spirit is and how the practices have been going. We need the Seniors to step up and set some examples for the underclassmen. If ever they need to man up it is now. No excuses attitude( when actually there's a ton of them) This can either make them stronger or they can chuck it in,let's hope for a stronger. Who's getting more reps at RB and QB? Go Zips!! Quote

ksu sucks Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 We have seen some senior leadership. It consisted of a kid that reared on the mean steets of Mentor stealing from his team.Just an FYI, you guys were totally off base with your description of Mentor in another thread. I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or not when one of you called it the "beverly hills" of lake county. I'm from Lake county and that's just about laughable. Mentor is just a normal middle class city. It's big enough(50,000+) that you have some pockets of money. But for every cul-de-sac lined with McMansions there's a good chunk of working class neighborhoods over closer to the lake. If you want proof:Estimated 2007 median household income: $65,262http://www.city-data.com/city/Mentor-Ohio.htmlYour point still stands, nonetheless. Mentor isn't North Hill. Besides, the kid had a full tuition scholarship. What the hell does he need to steal books for? Obviously his priorities were a little mixed. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Yep, I can see where they aren't well to do....your data says it all. A median income almost 50% higher than the rest of the state. Pretty "Average" if you ask me.... Quote
scottditzen Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 re: Mentor, those stats are not descriptive. The nice housing along the Lake distort the numbers. Go a few blocks away from the Lake and it's as average as average can be. Quote

ZachTheZip Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 My experience during Brookhart's tenure here is that the seniors are never the leaders. The longer the players are here, the less they seem to care about the team or about winning. It feels like the best players are usually sophomores and juniors, but they seem to disappear as seniors. Off the top of my head, I can think of Frye, Hixon, Biggs, Arthur, Blackburn, Getsy, etc. There are many that dont disappear as seniors. Quote
scottditzen Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 Getsy didn't disappear his senior year, but the offense sure did!I will never forget that loss to Can't...really ugly and on television too.My experience during Brookhart's tenure here is that the seniors are never the leaders.
