Zip_ME87 Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Thanks to the band for stopping outside the soccer field and playing the fight song on your march back to Gazetta Hall from Infocision Stadium. For me, it was a GREAT addition to an awesome day on campus and well-deserved by the 18-0-0 Zips Mens Soccer Team. BTW...I'm looking forward to your marching through campus and playing at Zipsfest while the No. 1 Zips soccer team is playing the Huskies is the Mac Tournament next Friday. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 The soccer team always struggles when the band is playing. I like the band, but please, please stay far away from the soccer field. Quote

Zip_ME87 Posted November 8, 2009 Author Report Posted November 8, 2009 I will admit that I didn't like the band playing throughout the MSU game. I thought it was too loud such that the Zips couldn't hear each other on the field. I would think that Coach Porter would work that with the band if it was a distraction. But, I did like the short playing of the fight song outside of the soccer field during the Hartwick game...just my opinion. Quote

Sorry.what about the seattle sounders and their unique sound wave marching band?Having been to Qwest field this season, the best thing I can say about Drew's invention is that they are usually drowned out by the sound of the Sounders supporters section. They're so far from the field (at least were at the Barca game) that you can't hear them very well. They're just background noise to the real happening. They do add something to the pre-game march the supporters make to the stadium from the bar quarter though. They're a positive contribution to the atmosphere OUTSIDE the stadium. Quote
