templefan Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Akron has fine facilities and an excellent core group of skill players to build around. Your QB (Nicely) will be a premire player in the MAC very soon. Good luck for the rest of this season and beyond. Quote

Good luck the rest of the way and in your bowl game. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Thanks. Temple's an excellent looking team. CRUSH K.e.n.t for us this week! And good luck against CMU. They're also a very good team. Quote
Dave in Green Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 Thanks, templefan, and best of luck to your team. I think Temple has a better overall team than CMU, and would be the best representative of the MAC against a tough opponent in a major bowl game. So I hope you get the chance to prove it. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 Count me in on both the thanks to the Temple fans here and the props for their football team. It's been a while since the Zips were thoroughly humiliated at home like that. I agree with the sentiment that the Owls could very well win the MAC Champ game this year. Now if this DOES occur, I really hope the MAC office decides to "strike while the iron's hot" regarding full MAC membership. Temple's football following has never been extensive, but with a possible conference championship and a bowl game this year it could very well be on the rise. THIS would be the time to say you're either in all the way or you're out. If Temple deems themselves to be too good in hoops for the MAC and if C-USA picks them up, so be it (the Big East is NOT going to offer them to come back anytime soon.....I'm not saying it won't ever happen). Dave in Green Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 Guess I overestimated the Owls and underestimated the Bobkitties, based on their respective performances against the Zips. So I'm making no more predictions on the MAC championship or who would best represent the conference in bowl games. Quote

I had predicted that Temple would destroy their MAC opponents the rest of the way, but I guess Solich and those Appalachian hillbillies from Athens had it going on. Still though I'd prefer to see Temple represent the MAC in any "important" bowl game with their size and speed. I would also like to see the MAC force their hand regarding full conference membership. Temple BB being in the MAC could be very very good for UA. Quote
