The multimillion dollar question, however, regards the new football stadium. It's nearly assured that the Zips will play on campus someday, but how the building will be funded remains uncertain.

"It is mandated that the stadium has to be built with donated funds," Curtis said. The stadium will be built where the university apartments are currently located. The apartments will be demolished. However, new campus housing will be built surrounding the stadium. The new complex will house the same amount of students, if not more, Curtis said.

Now, what timeframe are we looking at and how much money is needed?

My guess is that next year will be the last at the Rubber Bowl.

I'm also guessing that money is close to being taken care of.

This seems to be a hard thread to care on, everytime we start talking about this

somebody pipes in with "I see no evidence of this in the Beacon" comment.

Here is hoping the new stadium has more....

I would imagine that they would rely on the fanbase to raise a certain amount of that money. Like someone mentioned earlier, sell bricks or something. If they can raise all the money prior to starting construction, then all the better.

I wouldn't doubt that by having student housing built into the stadium, they were able to defer some of the construction cost with public money. I know what they could do to raise money, sell the seats in the rubber bowl. Those of us who have sat in the same spot for years might just cough up some money.
