StephenWiley Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Your offensive play calling was very nice. I was highly impressed with the way your coaches were able to manipulate our defense. You guy's have a good quarterback and some very sure-handed receivers. Your ability to get the ball down the field will be the key to winning the MAC (You did a good job of it today). I saw Hixon get hurt on a punt, hope he's ok but looked like a bad knee injury. Thanks for the game and good luck for the rest of the season. Quote
zff Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Thanks and good luck to you as well. I know its tough but you guys do have a good team I hope the wins start coming. Hixson is ok he will be ready to go next week. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Thanks SW. I do have to say, your fans are a class act. Most other fans come in here and start spoutnig off your mouths. It was refreshing to have some fans come in, make valid points about their teams Offense and Defense. Look at it this way, you guys did the same thing to us last year and we ended up playing for the division championship and being bowl eligible. Good luck with the rest of your season! Quote
BlueRaiderPride Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Thanks and good luck to you as well. I know its tough but you guys do have a good team I hope the wins start coming. Hixson is ok he will be ready to go next week. Very impressed with Getsy, Biggs, and Hixon's play. Akron outplayed us in every way shape and form including on the sidelines. But something I learned after the game from listening to our players is that our coaches and players are becoming more and more disattached to one another. After witnessing North Texas getting blown out by Tulsa, it only puts more merit into the thing we feared. We really don't have a good football team this year, and the Sun Belt Conference as a whole is far worse than it's ever been in it's four year history. We can take some solace in this loss if the Zips will do us a favor and finish high in the MAC this year. MAC champions would really help us out alot. Quote
UA Fan Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I'd like to echo that. The MT posters in here were confident but not overly cocky and seemed hospitable to Akron fans coming to the game. And I appreciated being able to listen to your radio feed on the internet...you've got us beat on that feature and your announcers are very listenable for opposing fans (much better than Purdue). Good luck the rest of the season. Quote
InTheZone Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 After reading your board a little bit, I've got to say this to the MTSU fans. Don't give up on your team, your coach, or the season just yet. Last year, much like you guys, we came into the season with a lot of hype, it being Charlie Frye's senior season and all. A lot of people around here were talking about us going into Penn State and whooping their ass, sort of like you guys were talking about Alabama. We got spanked 48-10. Then we thought, oh well, we'll just rebound with an easy win over MTSU, much like you guys talked about us today. We played like crap and lost the game. We then went into Virginia and get the living snot beat out of us. 0-3. Then something magical happened. Things clicked, we had a little bit of luck, and in the final week we were playing for a conference championship and bowl berth. Keep the faith alive guys. You have a good team and things will get better. Good luck the rest of the season. Quote
StephenWiley Posted September 18, 2005 Author Report Posted September 18, 2005 At face value its easy to think that way. Unfortunately there is a melt down with our players and coaching staff that is occuring(major internal strife). Thankfully it will be the coaching staff getting out of dodge, not the players. Quote
zip37 Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 S.W.-- We had same problem a couple of years ago w/our basketbll situation, that got resolved and we are on our way up. Do you recall when MTSU came to Akron vowing to take the Co out of Co-Champion OVC basketball? Kerry (Fats) Hammonds was on the team (1986). Maybe MTSU will resolve the FB situation and you will move in a positive directiom sure hope so With ball ammunition lock and load. Quote
