Quickzips Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Buffalo isn't exactly unrealistic. They are the 1 seed in the MAC at the moment. They just beat us pretty soundly. It isn't like they picked Toledo. Still, you have to remember that all of these "experts" are really just looking at who is leading the conference at the moment they put out their bracket. Quote
Valpo Zip Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Buffalo is the team to beat in the MAC right now. I am not at all surprised they were picked. I can't wait to see them in the JAR. Quote
zippyman23 Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Lunardi's projections are based on if the season would end today. He always gives the current conference leader the automatic bid, and in cases of ties, he uses RPI.Buffalo is 3-0 in the MAC and has the highest RPI in the MAC. That's why they are the projected winner as of today. Quote
zip37 Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 The conference tournament champion. PERIOD. Quote
MDZip Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 While I don't care much about who Joe has penciled in as the MAC rep at this point (he has CMU), he has them listed as a 16 seed. I don't expect that to hold but man, that would be ugly. Quote

I don't expect that to hold but man, that would be ugly. Not gonna happen. I think there are at least a dozen other conferences that will send a champ that is far more deserving of those 15 and 16 seeds. As much as we complain about the strength of the MAC, there are certainly far worse places to be in terms of how you are viewed come tournament time. Dave in Green Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Pomeroy currently rates the MAC right square in the middle -- 16th of 33 conferences:Pomeroy Conference Rating Link Quote
