MaxZIP Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 It is like they eat a steak dinner and drink a case of beer at half. No movement and sloppy ball control. The front of the rim is sure getting a ton of action on the akron end.I know there are alot of "Keith Dambrot worshipers" on here but i dont think we can continue to blame the players for everything that goes wrong. Dambrot shoots us in the foot alot of times with his lineups and schemes.Again, we have no go to five. Mix and match all you want but when the crap hits the fan you must havefive guys you can rely on. Quote
MaxZIP Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 I love how we have a 7 footer but the small forwards are shooting inside hook shots.and getting position on him for rebounds. zeke needs to move with authority. He kind of tip toes around down there.Well you know how much we love making him come out and switch off his man at the 3 point line so he can hurry back to rebound. The team just isn't able to anticipate each other's moves. Hitchens is a turnover waiting to happen too often. Quote
RowdyZip Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Why are Akron games like this? And I don't mean just basketball, it seems we almost ALWAYS have weak second halves. I'd love to see the foot on the floor the entire game. Don't play to "not lose," play to win, play the same until there's two minutes left if you've got a big lead. Hopefully this changes in football with Coach Ianello and crew. It's just frustrating to watch.Did some stat research, I guess it's those Zips colored glasses: We're 4-4-1 in 2nd halves in MAC play, and 14-7-2 overall. Quote

RootforRoo44 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Any question that Conyers isn't our "go to guy"? 3 threes tonight, all at times we really needed. Quote

Conyers looks like a Div 1 (non mac) player. McClanahan is ususllay on the bench in favor of hitchens. Your five are our most reliable players. Everybody else needs to be evaluated on a game-by-game basis. Quote

Something you just dont see much on this team. Something that Humpty should take notice of. Quote
zipsfan13 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 No foul when that kid from Ball State lowered his shoulder into Nick? Wow. Quote

RowdyZip Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 No foul when that kid from Ball State lowered his shoulder into Nick? Wow.MactasticSurprised they didn't give a foul to Nik right there. It'd be about fitting of the classic "really bad call at a critical time" that MAC officials seem to make in every close game. Quote
MaxZIP Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Horrible basketball.Humpty is 5-16 from the floor and 2-7 from three. Can we start counting his mises as turnovers... Quote
apalmison Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 No foul when that kid from Ball State lowered his shoulder into Nick? Wow.I don't know if you have the same announcers on FSO, but on FSI, the announcer agreed it was a foul - if not a 3 second violation. Quote
RowdyZip Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Tell me how B McKnight can miss a half-dozen wide open shots and then hit a turn around fadeaway from 18 feet? Quote

jhbengals07 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 no call before the end of regulation was crap. Jones traveled, was in the lane for 5 seconds, and pushed off...3 missed calls way to go MAC refs Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Two BIG shots by Brett McKnight and some very good defense...maybe he heard us? Quote
ZachTheZip Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 Ball State hitting 50%. Where's the defense? Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Ball State hitting 50%. Where's the defense?it's entirely been Nik tonight....he played great. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 Hitting FTs seals the game. This is not something I'm confident about. Quote
