ZachTheZip
Too bad they couldn't pull it off. That was the toughest road game left this season by far. At least BG lost, too. That means that the game against them on the 20th is still for control of the MAC East and one of the top 2 spots in the tournament. The team learned a lot from this, even though they couldn't pull off the upset. msopher
Toledo has a strong attendance base because of its Women's basketball fan club (The Lady Rocket Fan Club) which is atleast 1,000-1500 strong. Granted, Toledo is a large enough city to which you should be able to draw 2-3,000 per night. Having a new arena helps but UT has always averaged near 2,000 per home game since the mid 90's. Of course, back then Toledo and Can't St were the best teams in the conference. If Akron can find a way to build its program into a consistent 18-20 win season and find a way to build on AK-Rowdies for the women's games, then I think you will eventually find more community support. I was impressed with your team in Toledo. Your post players (#32 and #44) were top notch.
