infofan
1350 AM radio daily talk show will feature the Zips all day/night friday building up to the UA /Can't game. The hosts Jon Marachino and Fish are going to broadcast live from Rhodes Arena on friday featuring Keith Dambrot, Jodi Kest, Rob Ianello, and Tom Wistrcill. While some people have sampled their show and rejected it as OSU fans who host a show in Akron they actually deserve some credit. Theyve been pushing Zips B-ball all week, and the fact is they talk about whatever their callers bring up. Have any of you called in?? Far too few callers bring up Akron, so they talk about what their callers DO bring up. cut them some slack- tune in on friday if you can- and better yet call in about UA. But having 2 Luckeye honks, who have not been to a Zips game in years is lame. Bill Needle would be better hosting the show. Now if Steve French and Joe Dunn did the show, it would be far more entertaining and informative. Last week, I turned on 1350 during Jon Marachino and the Fish's show and they were giving away Zips tickets to the upcoming mens basketball games vs Ohio and Cant st. They had to have mentioned "mens tickets" atleast 10 times over the 20 minutes I listened to the show. I was waiting to see if they could figure it out or someone call and tell them the OU tickets were for the womens game that was played yesterday. Bill Needle was bad but not this bad. I am pleased to see our local AM radio stations that focus on sports (1350am & 850am) are starting to feature programs other than OSU. Guess it helps that Akron has teams (Soccer, BBall) that are worth following and are successful.BTW, if anyone listens to Tony Rizzo's show on 850 AM WKNR, then you should listen tomorrow 3/4/10 for a non-Zips topic......SURFING. Zip Watcher
I'm down with Jon Marachino and the Fish .. it's a decent show. It's early still, and I think it would be good to swing them more to the Zips .. but that will take time, and Zips fans' efforts to do it.I have 'em on most afternoons when I can.Go Zips! I'd give them a 1 out 10.Sure, there may be an opportunity to talk Zips sports, but these clowns are clueless when it comes to UA athletics. They would be hard pressed to name 5 guys on the team, let alone carry on a meaningful conversation. About time Cleveland meets the (real) North Shore.BTW -- does this station have a voice name of "Goldbloom" or something similar, who covers the Cavaliers? He was interviewed by the ESPN Honolulu station yesterday about LBJ.

zipboy
I caught most of the first 3 hours of the show, almost an Akron infomercial. It was great.1st time that I heard the AD speak at length. He was a good interview.
