akronzips71
His behavior was abysmal, but we really NEED him the the tournament. I would hate to miss a chance at the Dance because of that.BTW, what was the story with that second T that got him ejected? No one shot any free throws? What am I missing? What am I missing?I guess they called a double technical on him and a player from EMU. Looking at the character of EMU's players and coaches I don't blame Humpty for getting upset, he shouldn't get suspended seeing as their was no violence involved, except for the hard foul on Mcness. Blue & Gold
On the postgame show Frenchy said that he shouldn't be suspended since the T's didn't involve "fisticuffs" (sp?).

Playing his butt off?Looked to me that Humpty was the driving spark that ignited the down trodden Zips.No way should he tone it down. Just the opposite .. turn up the wick. jeaglet1
The second tech was stupid. The game was over and he knew he was allready t'd up once. Gotta play smart. At that point emu had nothing to lose and the zips have another game.Word around the Q right now is that since he was officialy ejected for 2 tehnicals the league is looking into suspending him. Nothing official just chatter I'm hearing sitting behind press row.

I am sure KD will give him an ear full.

All you need to do is reach in if you want to intentionally foul, not grab the guy and keep pulling on him long after the whistle had blown and elbowing? That stuff was uncalled for and Humpty did nothing wrong, there was no violence! so I see no reason why he deserves to get suspended...but this is the MAC where it's average to call 60 fouls per game, so I really wouldn't be surprised... He has to play smart. Why even risk it when you have another game to play?
Dave in Green
Some players are mostly cool, calm and collected, and some are driven by emotion. The emotional ones are susceptible to getting out of control. But they're also capable of rising to the occasion and inspiring their teammates to do extraordinary things when an ordinary performance might result in defeat.Every team needs well-grounded anchors and emotional spark plugs. Humpty and Nik are the Zips' emotional spark plugs. It's only when they occasionally go over the edge that their emotional reaction to a situation may hurt the team more than it helps. On balance, the positive energy Humpty and Nik bring to the Zips far outweighs their occasional outbursts. They are both good, clean players who play with so much passion that they exhaust themselves while on the floor. They will both mature and get better at channeling their emotional energy more into improved play and less into the occasional outbursts. Not only do I hope they never completely lose their edginess, I'm looking forward to seeing how another edgy player fits into the mix next season when Josh Egner arrives. Deeustin89
Humpty has always worn his heart on his sleeve. He will not instigate anything but does not back down from being wronged, disrespected, or in this occassion fouled hard. Also Josh Egner is definitely another emotional guy, but man what an athlete!!!
