Zipsrifle Posted March 13, 2010 Author Report Posted March 13, 2010 At this point, here is my tally from a perfect score, not including centers:Bures, Alaska = -2Rutter, Alaska = -3Stankey, Mississippi = -3Buck, Army = -5Lorenzen, TCU = -5Lankes, Navy = -5Benjamin, Akron = -8Kim, Nebraska = -8Wang, Navy = -8Lamson, WVU = -8Morrissey, TCU = -8This is misleading, however, as Bures is at 20 shots and Rutter is at 40 shots. They should have a line plot with all the scores on it so you can easily tell how each shooter is doing in relation to the others. Quote

Sarah is on a run, she dropped 4 on her last card and is cleaning this card. Quote

VERY respectable score. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted March 13, 2010 Author Report Posted March 13, 2010 Morrissey from TCU is done with -10 so lets call that the mark to beat and go from there. Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 sarah has to shoot 21 10's to even tie with Morrissey... with how she's shot thus far, I don't see her getting into the finals. I could be wrong, but there is a whole 'nother relay too. Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 How many go to the final? Top 8 Quote

Zipsrifle Posted March 13, 2010 Author Report Posted March 13, 2010 I'm going to try to put this in perspective. You know going into the match what you need to do. You can add your score in your head as you go and you know where you normally shoot, your comfort zone. As you go along, it is very hard to not to have an idea of how you are doing, even harder here with the scores posted in front of you. Generally you will fall into your "Comfort Zone". If you are doing bad, you'll get a few great shots, if you are doing good, you'll drop a couple until you land in your "Comfort Zone". It is a subconscious thing, very hard to avoid which is what makes the sport so challenging and why I say it is 99% mental. The best match I ever shot was my very last match. I sighted in my gun, put my spotting scope off to the side and shot the entire position with absolutely no idea of what my score was. I never looked at my targets between relays and I shot way above my "Comfort Zone". Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Exactly, and those who fall into that trap aren't mentally strong enough to be champions yet. Shooting is 99% mental, but what percentage of training is really dedicated specifically to mental work compared to physical techniques? Quote
