ZachTheZip
Signing day is Wednesday. We already know three of the recruits. We have been promised at least one more, but have no information available to the public on who it might be. I believe that signing day marks the beginning of a two-week period for recruits to sign. Most do it immediately. JUCO players and transfers usually wait until the end.
Zip Watcher
FYI. The three known recruits signed their LOI in the fall. Go Zips!
Quickzips
I have a gut feeling that if we sign someone else it will be an unheard of kid whose name hasn't been brought up on here yet. I know I've tossed around a lot of names, as have others, but I just have a feeling that whoever we end up getting will be an off the radar kind of guy. No real information to back this up, just gut feeling. Personally, I'm just as interested in who, if anyone is going to be transfering out. I saw Humpty coming out of a classroom in the CBA just last week, so as of this point I don't think he would be one of the transfers, but you never know. Hopefully we find out some more information soon here.

ZachTheZip
We should also find out who is transferring. They have to sign with their new school during this signing period.
Zip Watcher
We should also find out who is transferring. They have to sign with their new school during this signing period. They don't HAVE to do anything during this period. This is simply the opening up of the spring signing period. A guy who's transferring has the whole summer to decide where he's going and enroll in time for fall classes in order to start the clock on his transfer year. Obviously if scholi's are in consideration, it's likely to happen earlier rather than later so they don't miss out. You weren't around back then, but it was commonplace for an earlier Zips regime to be filling the scholarships for an upcoming season during the summer months. IIRC the all time leading scorer in Colorado history didn't sign with the Zips until mid to late summer. And you'll see lots of signings over the next 4 months all over the college hoops world. Don't fool yourself into thinking that all will reveal itself in the next 14 magical days .. because it might not. Go Zips!
Big Zip
Word is the MAC has landed its second top 50 recruit as CMU's Coach Ziegler has landed his son...the no. 26 ranked player in the country. Well Zeke's standing as the highest ranked MAC recruite was short lived. This certainly makes CMU a perenial contender for the next four years....6'5 195 was recruited by UCLA, Arizona and others
Dave in Green
Coincidentally coach Ziegler just signed a new 4-year contract with CMU. Trey Ziegler would be a good test for the defensive abilities of Josh Egner.
ZachTheZip
This means that there is finally a legit contender in the MAC West. Hopefully it forces the other West teams to step up their games.
